Winterseven
Hi All, Further to my ramblings in the intro forum I have decided that my Blood Claws (Or Blood Hunters as i call them) would be in Red Armour rather than the usual SW Grey. I've never been the worlds best painter but feel that i am gradually improving. I had been working on this model for about an hour a night over two or three nights until last Tuesday i was told i was being made redundant So I decided that i outside of looking for new work, and screwing the company for all i could, I would finish my Blood Hunter's Captain. The pose is supposed top be the opposite pose of the old GW Blood Claw Sarge, but i couldnt find a right handed Power Fist so i had to create my own pose! Anyway here he is, sorry the pics arent amazing, the camera cant seem to focus and sadly the images dont really do him justice. Anyway here he is!! - C&C Welcome W7 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/ Share on other sites

Winterseven
Ah yes - i forgot to mention, I havent played a game of 40k in over 8 years :D I got back into the hobbey purely for the creational aspect and also that the stuff now is way cooler than when i was a pup. So therfore i am going purely by the rule of cool as these models wont be used as gaming so over the comming months most of my creations will be completely illegal to use - but should i ever feel like picking up the dice again - i'll make sure that the blood claw bolters count as bolt pistols! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/#findComment-2125666 Share on other sites
hendrik
or you could give the guy a beard and make him a grey hunter, although they don't have lightning claws Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/#findComment-2125706 Share on other sites
Heimdal
Ah yes - i forgot to mention, I havent played a game of 40k in over 8 years <_< I got back into the hobbey purely for the creational aspect and also that the stuff now is way cooler than when i was a pup. You say he`s a BC captain/sarge. As those doesnt really exist in the SW organisation he will be a prime candidate for a Wolf Guard (equivalent of a vanilla sarge but much cooler) and thus his weapon options should be perfectly legal. dudelord
I'd just say he was a wolf guard that joined the unit... the bolter upgrade is free for them anyway. I quite like the posing, looks like he's trying to decide who wants to eat his knuckle duster of doom. As for the painting... you paint a helluva lot better than me (although I've been painting for 10 years and still haven't gotten any better...) so can't comment there. I especially like how in one shot he's standing on a paint jar, and in another he's on a wallet... tripped me out for a second until I realised what was going on lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/#findComment-2144119 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Looks like a great wolf gaurd pack leader for a bunch of bloodclaws. Well done. :D. Chaos backpack is a bit odd, but it works. BTW- a right handed powerfist can be found in the assault marine box, along with five sets of running legs and some CCWs- definitely a good buy, for not much more than a combat squad. Winterseven
@ Dudelord Thanks for the comments, i really just threw him together out of some bits i had laying around from another abandoned project. I wanted the claw to be more pointing, but becuase i wanted to use the shoulder pad with the extended trim it wouldnt fit properly. The First picture was actually the last picture i took, and he's standing ontop of a Wine Bottle <_< alas shortly after the picture was taken he tripped and fell into the abyss (read i knocked him off the bottle and behind my desk). But fortunately no damage was done and he is ready to go again. The other picture he is stood on what is actually my GF's snazzy reporters pad ;) As to the painitng - thank you for the compliment, i'm not too unhappy about the way he turned out for my first attempt.... @ Grey Mage, Thanks for the comments the Chaos Backpack was mainly becuase when i started out i was basing my Wolves on the 13th Co, Grey Slayers. That and the fact that i had run out of normal SM back Packs..... I have just finished the second Blood Claw and the First of my Grey Hunters, so when i get a chance i shall post them! I think i'lll grab an assault box and use the remaining bits for some Sky Claws.. Crimson Devil
His pose stuck me as very Saturday Night Fever. <_< Your painting looks good. I could never get used to SW grey either. Nothing wrong with adding some color to the Fang. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/#findComment-2144198 Share on other sites
dudelord
Noes, not the abyss. And I got both platforms wrong =( I used to have a wolf lord modelled (bout 7 years ago) that had 2 powerfists. I originally wanted lightning claws but they just didn't seem cool enough so I cut off the powerfist fingers and glued chimera bull dozer blades into place... He was so awesome... he could hold ork models on his claws and balance properly. Alas we were having a styrofoam fight (I cut styrofoam models to proxy for my lack of tanks, and basically we threw them at other tanks to watch the styrofoam ones bounce off each other... We'd just finished like a 6 hour battle and there was about 10 more mins till my ride showed up and we didn't know what to do.... don't judge me) and a stray landspeeder bounced along the table and sent my awesome wolf lord crashing to the ground, snapping all but 2 of his mcAwesome claws and taking the right hand clean off. Ahem anyways, I love the wolf tail talismans dangling from the backpack, I always found mine would just break off my models so I never bothered putting them on Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/#findComment-2144203 Share on other sites
Winterseven
@ Dudelord Ah we've all made mistakes, needless tosay my answer from now on is blue tack until the mode is on a safe and flat surface. I just wish my camera had a better exposure, then i wouldnt need to use 'risky' surfaces to take the pictures and my GF wouldnt have what appears to be dried chaos black (which i have actually pointed out looks also remarkably like biro) on her pad :( @Crimson Devil Hey no one said Disco wasn't allowed in fang i mean there's nothing wrong with a pack leader busting some funky moves in the fang every now and again right?.........right? (deafening silence) O-K i'll just put these white flared trousers waya then ... :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179598-my-blood-claw-captain/#findComment-2144673 Share on other sites
