LRC and Blood Claws

Would this still be a viable option for the new Codex? There isn't as much PWs or PFs in the group. I still like the idea of being able to assault out of it.

And with the Trickster being an upgrade, would it be possible to have a WG, the Trickster, and a IC all in one pack?

I'll probably still run my list that way, just because I have the models, but I was wondering other peoples opinions on the idea,

Thanks for your time,

Eric

I think it would work, but man it would be expensive.

Your biggest problem is going to be that whatever that unit charges will surely die, and then you are stuck out in the open to be shot.

For IC, I do hope you are thinking Wolfpriest, he is the man when it comes to BloodClaws

Yeah, it would be larger games that I would consider running something worth that many points.

I was thinking something like this would be funny to field, but a lot of points

LRC

13 Blood Claws

1 Lukas the Trickster (I think of him as Loki)

1 Ajark Rockfist (Thor)

1 Ragnar Blackmane

Not too sure if the Upgraded Wolf Guard can be put in a pack with another IC or not. But could you imagine this pack assaulting out of a Land Raider Crusader?

I'm actually planning on putting 10 PW toting WG in a redeemer with a wolf lord wielding twin wolf claws and saga of the warriorborn along with a wolf priest. That way everyone uses the priests re-rolls and the lord can use his wolf claw re-rolls on wounds. Expensive I know, but I'm wiling to give it a shot

your over vehicle cap anyway. arjac is in tda.

IMHO, Lukas is cool, but BC just arent worth it, even with him. GH by far are the best troops choice in the game, AGAIN! ive played about 9 games with new dex now, and y BCs not being able to shoot before they run in with out an IC in the unit dont like. a WP makes any unit he is with better, and the GH being able to take MoTW where BCs cant, basically gives you two power weapons in the unit. I know that rending is NOT the same, but for the points GH are better and dont get hit on 3s all the time.

Yeah. I was just at a Games Workshop today and noticed Ajarc was in TDA. I was a little dissappionted. But, I could always drop a BC.

I was thinking about my list I would run. I'm thinking 3 Grey Hunter Packs in Rhinos, Bjorn, this pack, and a couple more Dreads for my army. A Mech army is what I used to play, with some Bikes. I think I'll try just a Mech based army now.

Njal, Bjorn, another Rune Priest, and a Wolf Priest. Would have answers to infiltrators, psychers, and armor with Meltaguns, Plasma Pistols, and Dreads.

14 Blood Claws with a Wolf Priest in a Land Raider are one of the nastiest assaulting units we have. Unfortunately there's only a handful of armies that need that much killing power. I think a maximum size squad of Orks, maybe a large squad of Chaos Marines... I suppose that Tyranids might need it too. However then the Priest's preferred enemy rule selection becomes important. Infantry to pull down the gaunts? Or monstrous creatures to take down the big 'uns?

14BCs and a wolf priest will woop the floor with any gaunt squad out there, theire only T3 so your 56 attacks will hit 28times (without reroll 42 with) and wound 18-19times killing 15gaunts or so, (28wounds and 25dead with the rerolls).

Even tough it depends on the list you are playing against and how they are equipped, remember a carnifex without crushing claws, any tail weapon or scything talons is completely useless in CC 2 WS3 S9 attacks? cmon you might kill a claw a turn, (or the priest if you arent carefull).

I have used a LRC with Blood claws for 4 or 5 years now. Admitedly they will not be as good as they were. GW always nerfs you in some way. So we got nerfed on BCs. That said, they still should crush anything they reach in melee. You stick a WGPL with them and a Heroe type and they will simply smoke anything. The LRC is near undestructable and then BC get so many attacks that they can eat 2 or 3 squads of stuff at a time.

Best Job to date, 3 Gaurd squads in my turn and then the HQ another troop squad and a heavy weapons team. This was back in the days of sweeping advance. Still they could take that fire and still toast them.

If someone is silly and puts 2 or 3 squads close together, just slam all of them. Kill a ton of them and force them to have to deal with you. They lost the advantage and now are locked in melee, and probly losing at that.

Still Grey Hunter are our power. Always have been and always will be.

Ragnar and 10 PA Wolf Guard in a LRC is absolutely hideous.

Hideous.

You mean Hideously expensive? Seriously... unless they all have chain fists and are charging an imperitor titan what could that possibly be points effective against?

you dont need pre em MC, just take infantry and saga of the beast slayer!!! re-roll wounds against T5!!!

I used to run this, with mixed results. It is fairly potent, at least if you add an IC to lead them (wolf priest was what I usually used), but its one hell of a target. We're even more expensive in some ways now, so its going to have to be the focal point of your army. Get units that can directly support the bloodclaws so that they don't get mowed down.
