kittenofdeath
whats his points value? it says one wolf guard can upgrade to arjac for X amount of points, so do you have to buy a wolfguard then upgrade, or just pay the points for the upgrade itself EDIT: now that i think of it, same question on lucas Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179656-arjac-rockfist/ Share on other sites
Kjarl Sternmaw-Wolf Guard
Arjac is an upgrade. So you must buy 1 Wolf Guard first before you can have him. same for Lucas; buy 1 Blood Claw and then upgrade him. The total cost of the 2 upgrades will cost you 343 pts including the models bought before the upgrade. Hfran Morkai
He's worth it even just for the ability to throw a thunder hammer with the force of a railgun! Hfran Morkai
My army is based around thunder hammers and when I heard about him he had to be collected for my great company. Valhalla
I'd be interested to hear some reports from people on how he's played. In my mind he makes the most since if you've got Logan so that you're running Wolf Guard as troops. I'd assume he'd do well leading a 2nd squad preferably a terminator one, however what way do you transport him? Drop Pod or Land Raider? Right now in my draft list I'm running Logan in a LRC with 6 terminators but a second LR would be devastating at bigger point games. Wispy
I like the idea of spending the points on him rather then buying an excess number of thunder hammers and storm shields. I don't know it would work in practice, but four WG with Frostblades led by him sounds like it'd be a fearsome unit. Four guys laying S5 death at initative, then Arjak laying down 5 more attacks (on the charge) at S10. Saga of the Bear, too. SamaNagol
He looks hideous in attack, but his real strength is in defence. He is untargetable in CC as he is an upgrade character, not an IC. And he has Eternal Warrior with 2 wounds. This means he can happily take 2 Power Fist equivalent attacks in combat and will most likely still be standing as you would have to fail 2 3+ inv saves for him to die. This is very very useful when grinding down hidden powerfists in units. It also makes him very useful when taking Anti Tank shots against the unit if they get left out in the open. You can allocate that Vindicator, Lascannon or Meltagun shot onto him and he won't die even if he does fail his save. He makes the WGT unit very durable! Wispy
And because he's Wolf Guard, you can assign him to any other troop choice as needed. Can you imagine trying to clean him out of a squad of 15 Blood Claws? spectre312
I was going to get him because he sounded like the greatest upgrade character ever. But I totally missed that he can be in OTHER squads too. there's my BC w/ WG and runepriest. *drooool* Edit:: P.S I also realised, my new army is looking to be built around an upgrade character. trippy. Oldenhaller
Used him as part of a 3000 point game where he trolled around with logan and his other wolfguard buddies. In two turns he annihilated a bike squad, a raider, ulrick, lucas and a couple of blood claws. He's supremely deadly when the old wolf gives him prefered enemy... ~O Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179656-arjac-rockfist/#findComment-2126665 Share on other sites
