volfbjorn
it says Infantry why would Jump "infantry" excluded ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129581 Share on other sites
rodgers37
I hope not, its half my plan for beating Tau today.... i won't be able to kill Shas'o easyly now, with my drop pod list :) (i could not tell him :)) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129582 Share on other sites
JamesI
Jump Infantry are not infantry. Perhaps due to the jump packs they can just jump over the psychic whole in the ground. Lord Ragnarok
Makes sense....If I have a jump pack and a large crack surfaces under my feet to swallow me up I'll will certainly engage my Jump pack. volfbjorn
according to your thoughts it sounds very reasonable, but according to dex i can't recall anything mentioned excluding it :) maybe i am wrong or it might needs a clarification :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129604 Share on other sites
JamesI
according to your thoughts it sounds very reasonable, but according to dex i can't recall anything mentioned excluding it :) maybe i am wrong or it might needs a clarification :P The spell lists what it affects. Monsterous Creatures. Bikes, Cavalry, Beasts and Infantry. No mention of Jump Infantry affected so Jump Infantry are immune. spectre312
Hmmm. I think the whole reason for the initiative test is that it's how fast they can react to the ground opening up under them... Ah well, just hit the Tau with the hurricane attack that makes them moving in dangerous terrain. If he moves at all, DT test. watch him try to JsJ and fail the roll and die. Commence endless taunting. Edit: typo plague demons... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129620 Share on other sites
SamaNagol
Tempests Wrath makes all Jump Infantry take Dangerous Terrain tests everytime they move. It's the sex against Tau. Oldenhaller
Interesting that not all models with an initiative characteristic aare affected. While monstrous wraithlords and fexes, are affected, warwalkers and dreads are not even tho they have an initiative characteristic. Would have thought everything would have to test if it could. ~O Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129655 Share on other sites

JamesI
I'd say the writers assume a walker is too big to be caught in the spell, but then Monsterous Creatures would be too. Maybe they just decided it was too good if it could take out defilers and dreads. I know a deamon prince with wings only moves as jump infantry so is still hit by this, but what about a hive tyrant with wings? Same thing or not? Well if its jump infantry, its then not a monterous creature, so wouldnt get 2d6 and wouldn't be power weapons would it..... Toasterfree
Ive had little success with JoWW. Living Lightning and hurricane the 3d6 s3 ap- attacks have worked best for me. temp Wrath only works if they deep strike that turn. Oldenhaller
It'd suggest you've got a creature with two entrys in the type...one as a monstrous creature which affects conmbat etc etc etc and then jump which would affect movement and JotWW. I don't really see a clash there. ~O Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129715 Share on other sites

SamaNagol
That doesn't preclude them from also counting as Monstrous Creatures. JotWW DOES NOT state that Jump Infantry are immune, it just does not include them on the list. It does however include Monstrous Creatues, so any model which means Hive Tyrants and Daemon Princes/Greater Daemons are still always affected. The rules for JotWW are inclusive, not exclusive. Just because you have a status which is not on the list, it does not preclude you from being affected by the power when you also have a status which is on the list. Ahh but still the same :s in terms of not being affected..... Nope they are not, Jet infantry moves like normal infantry but can move in their assault phase again. Also Jet infantry cannot jump over stuff like jumppacks do. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179915-that-spell/#findComment-2129874 Share on other sites
