The generic Thunderwolf Model has been found

The use of the models from this line has been brought up many times over the past week or so. They are great models and I plan on using some of the Solo Wolves as mounts. The only concern is the ratio of the overall model once completed being 50% GW, allowing it to be used in turnies. As I only play friendly games, I don't have to worry about this issue, others might.

A red shirt at my local store tried high elf lions, and they look quite good, as the wolf drawings in the new SW codex have kind of lionish heads.

They just need a bit of GS fur on the body and tail which is quite easy to do.

I'll post pictures of mine when they are finished.

you guys realise the privateer press models are really small right smaller than gw models and those wolves have to be big enough to fill a 60mm base.

They are a little bigger (either side of the GW wolf) than the current GW plastic wolves as can be seen in the pic. Adding some GS fur over their smooth bodies will bulk them up some.

Since it hasn't been posted in this thread yet, I'd like to also ask people's opinion about this miniature for a Thunderwolf-look-a-like. I have no idea of the size of the thing, but I dig the look. It's not exactly a cheap alternative though :cuss

Found this news blurb from the beginning of the month: http://cipher-studios.com/2009/09/cipherst...ireshelldorado/ My guess is that, like Confrontation, it's very well crafted but 28mm Heroic Scale which means these will be expensive and not exactly the correct size. I'll exercise my patience and wait for the second wave releases for the TWC models. I will use the Hordes Wolves I have acquired already as I originally intended them......as retinue.

For those in the UK, I found most of the currently released items here: http://www.leisuregames.com/acatalog/Hell_...__Asmodee_.html

MindGamesMelbourne carries them for those down under folks. US will have to wait a while but as stated in the article linked, they hope by the end of the year......

Hey, if you have Canis Wolfsborn as your leader-you can take Wolves as troops. That means you can field 9 squads of Fenrisian Wolves, Canis and his wolf bodygaurd, and you could also throw in a Wolf Priest on a Wolf with Fenrisian Wolves and a Wolf Gaurd Body gaurd [on wolves] for the Wolf priest and for Canis.

Man it's gonna be a b*tch to play an objective game with 6 troops and no one is able to claim an objective. :P

Thus picking and adjusting your Army List to suit the Mission/Enemy. All Codicies allow enough flexibility to do this, though every Army has it's particular specific strengths. Having just one list as a "be all end all" is just folley as there will always be a weakness to be exploited; be it tactially, strategic or cost prohibitiveness. Just sayin'.

Of course, it was a joke. ;)

I love it.

If the games workshop thunderwolves are all unarmoured big dogs in horse poses like Canis' is, then I'm going to use something like the above.

How is the sizing like for that Helldorado mini?
