rcm2216
How viable will a squad of fourteen bloodclaws and wolf guard with a special character (perferably wolf priest) be, all loaded in a Land Raider Crusader? Will it be a decent assault unit in most cases? At least two powerfist on one blood claw and wolf guard, with mark of wolf on somebody else (maybe), not sure about the codex rules on this. Toasterfree
it will wreck house. give the BC a pw, and the WG a pf and boom you have nuke. but honestly GH would be a lot better. you get a PF or PW plus MoTW plus WG, plus WP, and if you want to make it really sick you stick ragnar in there also. Roland Durendal
How viable will a squad of fourteen bloodclaws and wolf guard with a special character (perferably wolf priest) be, all loaded in a Land Raider Crusader? It's got some flaws though, primarily: 1). Whatever you DO assault will probably die after 1 round of combat, thereby leaving your pups in the open to be shot at, possibly counter charged. and more importantly 2). That unit (everything excluding the WP SC for the time being) will run you...appx...btw 500-520pts (I added in a PW to the claws, a Melta, and a PF on the WG). I don't know about you, but in a 2000pt game, having 1/4 of your force tied into one hard hitting unit is extremely risky. And if you're playing a 1500pt game....its even riskier. One well placed Railgun shot or deepstruck sterngard squad and suddenly your uber unit of doom is walking toward an assault....and getting shot at the whole way. SamaNagol
If you present a number of targets it certainly is viable. But the wheels can fall off and leave you stuffed pretty easily. Although with Smoke you should get across the board if you are presenting other dangerous targets such as Drop Pods or Speeders which need to be dealt with. Or even a second Land Raider! DerekLee688
Ok, but if you can't put BC's in a LandRaider because of expense, what can you put in? A more tooled down version? If not 15pt. units then what? By that logic, it's better than having WG or any kind of TDA in a LR.
