Dang! I had forgotten about this thread, and how interested in it I was... Looking awesome so far brother, tho I agree with some of the others about the head choice :P . I've been waiting for the day when new BA models come out. If they look anything like this, it will be a good day. Keep up the great work!

Pretty damn amazing GSing on the chest plate and shoulders and all.

It´s a pity you used the DA robed legs, as I find them too short for this model. He looks kind of squat, which is a shame really as the rest of your work is ace!

But enough of my uneducated rabble, let´s see how this continues.

You´ll do it justice, I am sure!

Cheers

hey B&C...

well, it's been about two weeks since i got any work in on this guy...

i've been too busy painting to struggle with greenstuff...

i got the arms finished...

the gauntlets have had the spikes added around the rim, and the shoulder pads have been glued on...

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/wips/Mepharms1.jpg

now that i know how the shoulder pads will sit, i can sculpt the cloak...

i've made two rough forms to sculpt the cloak on...

since i don't know how to sculpt, i found it would be easier to make two rough flaps, and then cut them to shape...

i've cut the flaps down to be quite thin, so when i sculpt the folds it's not too fat...

now i need to join the flaps at the back, sculpt some folds, and extend the cloak up the back...

then i will sculpt the collar...

the hair will come after that...

thanks for lookin'...

cheers

My word,

I've just zoomed in on the detail you put into his chest.

Not to mention that winged pad. That has to be a cast :o

The GS-FU is very strong in this one.. :)

What are your plans for his hair? high forehead long hair, like the old model, or will you go in a different direction?

the metal Meph mini will be used to provide parts such as the sword and high collar...

the rest of the details will be copied with a greenstuff pressmould, and scratch sculptin'...

before i could start to cut any parts off the metal Meph mini, i needed to mould the details...

makin' a few pressmoulds of the shoulder pad details, and the chest will save me a lot of sculptin' time, and let me get to the paintjob quicker...

i make a mould of the syringes as well, and one for the blood drops...

here's the moulds:

this is the result after the first bit of trimmin' and clean-up:

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/wips/BAmoulds1.jpg

a little more prep to go on the casts, and i'll be ready to glue them to the body and the shoulder pads...

then i'll use some more green stuff to blend them into the plastic parts, and we will have the base to start buildin' Mephiston's signature look...

Thats how he did most of the green stuffing Brother Nihm :P

Good to see its progressing. Looking forward to all the parts being put together.

hey B&C...

well, after a month of bein' sick, and unable to work, i'm back at it...

i've not really had a chance to do a whole lot on this guy, but i wanted to keep it more or less a step-by-step...

this is the next bit of work...

the main body of the cloak has been finished, and just need some raised folds added to the back...

next i'll add the skulls to the front edges, and the cables that run from the front of the collar under his arms...

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/wips/Mephcloak2.jpg

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/wips/Mephcloak3.jpg

this is the backpack and servo-skull he'll be using...

i will add a plug to the end of the wire where i secured the skull to the backpack...

it should look like one of the cables is brushing across the backpack...

i'll get some work done on this guy tomorrow, and have a few more pics in a couple of days...

he's finally starting to come together...

i can't wait to paint this guy...

thanks for lookin'...

cheers

hey B&C...

i'm almost finished with this guy...

i finally got balls to have a go at the hair...

i have no idea what i was doin', but it didn't turn out half bad...

the cables were also a bg question for me...

i didn't have guitar string, and a plain roll of greenstuff would have looked boring...

i settled for a happy medium between the two...

i just have to put the arms on so i can make the cables from the side of his collar, and then he should be ready for final adjustments and paint...

enjoy...

As much as I love this model overall, I can't say that I care much for the head. I've seen it used on many BA conversions and kit-bashes before, and no matter how much BA insignia they have on their armour, they still look like Khorne Berzerkes to me. The only guys in the Astartes with fangs (for now anyways) are the Space Wolves. The whole Vampire discussion has been argued to bits in other threads, so I won't go into that, but even if that's what you are going for, I see the BA as more Anne Rice-ish than Nosferatu, which this head looks like. The rest of it is top notch though. Love your Green-stuff skills.

Can't wait to see it finished.

I dissagree i think this fits Mephiston better, after all i have seen and read about how Meph is more Faustian then Sangunian. Also i like it because i depics me As mephiston about to "Unleash hell" on the enemy through sheer force of will and hatred alone. But again this is all taste again right?. Wonderful cnversion this is deffo somthing to be proud off now....MAKE ME ONE XD
