Angels_Blade Posted September 29, 2009 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Hey everyone, Been working really hard lately so i'm rewarding myself with a new painting challenge. Space Wolves (but not for the cool new codex but for the new minis!) Here is my own interpretation of Bjorn the Fell-Handed. I have tried a number of new techniques for the very first time including; Object Source Lighting, Greenstuffing and Blending. It's not the best dreadnought in the world but i'm proud of it. The only thing that looked a little off to me was that the lighting reflection on the right shoulder looks brighter then the source itself. EDIT - by the way, that banner is spectacular! No secret my friend it's simple astronomican grey with a badab black wash in the recesses and a codex grey highlight. Good work on the plasma canon but not that mad about the red claws (I were not that fan either when GW painted their Bjorn dread claws this way). I'll try to be useful for once and with your permission, to bring an older Bjorn alongside yours. LOL I'm not sure, part of it is the light i used but i think it's because The colour of the base (brown) is showing through. I will re base him because i hate the base on it! Very nice work AB, paticulary on the new techniques that you used. The grey looks really good as I too hate the baby blue GW saddled us with, though I'm going to stick to my adeptus battlegrey/badab black combo for my own guys. Tends to happen when mud combines with snow, you get a sort of strange colour that looks wrong and if several walk over it that colour tends to show clearer. I personally like the base, looks like real BATTLE WORN snow instead of 'hollywood cleaned' battlefield. The light relection on the armour is also really good.
