Sharpsilver
I'm looking for people who might know what this picture might mean. It was taken at the GDUK SW vs Nids Diorama. It reminds me of the time in the 6th Wolf Book where Berek Thunderfist is mortally wounded and is carried by his Wolfguard as they fall back. But what do you guys think it's about? http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5283/tsazqa1b62dc799e828fb92.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179968-an-image-from-the-sw-vs-nids-diorama-at-gduk09/ Share on other sites
Skirnir Ragefang
Looks cool. The supposedly injured Hand looks a bit weird. Gah, now i have the idea of building a diorama of the Funeral of a Wolf lord. Level
This Diorama is symbolising the death of the old Space wolf codex and how the Dex (represented by the wolf lord) is being put to rest by his battle brothers. From the neutral background and the soft colours we get the impression that the death is peaceful and majestic and that space wolf players, as the wolf guard should lay our old dex to rest with reverence and honour. The slightly industrial feel given by the floor means that the team at GW have worked very hard to produce the new space wolves material and miniatures and the bloodied hand is an obvious symbol that we are going to slap our enemies around untill they are bloodied and defeated by our new armies. Finally the two dead wolves that are intertwined with the body of the wolflord (note the peaceful expression on his face) are a symbol of Loyalty and devotion even untill death..... But seriously, the heads of those minis are from the new wolf sprews so I'd say it's just a creative way of showing off the new wolf bits. Nice work. Sharpsilver
http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/3963/spacewolves4.jpg Inbetween the Vindicator and the Dreadnoughts. It's hard to see but he's being carried back into the fortress. It quashes my earlier thoughts thinking he may already be inside the fortress... Although I can't see any 'mortal' injuries on him.. it looks like his entire right arm has been melted/semi Devoured by something and it's just bone/exoskeleton remaining..
