Poor wolf.

But great pictures

The quality is :cuss because it was my phone. But they had about 8 diff wolf pelts there, that I will go back and take pictures more if people wanted. They had 1 brownish one, 2 artic, and the rest standard like the one most of the pictures are of in this collection. Best part of living in small old towns is still having a fur trading post.

i really hope that is synthetic fur. it upsets me that such a proud and noble creature was killed for a rug :(

HAHHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know anything about wolves? Meanest buggers Ive ever seen in the wild next to wild Boars.

Do you have any idea how warm you stay with one of those, or how nice it feels to sit on or rest your feet on?

.... boy, ya don't know crap about wolves....

For some years now i've been working in a zoo park (without cages. The predators have big - about 5 sqare km each - fenced areas where they can run arround freely), and have been taking care of wolves, foxes and wild cats... Wolves can be aggresive if you come too close to their lair, or a mother with pups. Or if they are wounded or sick. Other than that, they shy away from humans, and are frightened easily by humans. After about a year of working arround them i could safely get inside their area and tho they didn't let me touch them, they didn't attack me, growl at me or act hostile in any way. They just followed me from some 6-8 ft away.

Now after 4 years they act almost as i'm part of the pack. They are still a bit misstrusting, and keep me away from the pups, but i can pet them and they act enthusiastic when i come near. Wolves are aggresive when starving, sick, wounded, or protecting the pups and other members of the pack. That's all.

And the pics.... no comment. I know the Xtee wanted to help the painters here, but the photos are depressing as hell...

how about we just use this thread for its purpose, and leave all other concerns somewhere else, mmmm'kay?

On one hand yes, that's a good idea.

On the other hand I have to say that I don't like seeing these majestic little sweeties slaughtered just so some heartless human can have their fur...

If they want it, they should go and get it from the wolf themselves and using only the same weapons the wolf has. That I would be fine with...

i agree with you there LPetersson then we will see who the top predator really is

The wolfs here were not hunted, and the zoo keeper guy is correct. A great friend of mine has been rasing wolfs for 30 some years. The day I met him he put me in their kennel telling me to whistle to bring his dogs out. The wolves did a "mock" attack of me, and I was amazed at how delicate they were with me, while snarling and scaring the crap out of me. Wolfs are amazing creatures, now I don't recommend if you see a wolf you try to play with it, these were domesticated but there is no need to turn this into a animal rights thread. I posted this just to help with fur patterns, and nothing more lets not start some piddly fight over it please.

I hate to say this but I would love to see some pictures of artic wolves. As my lost company is named the Winter Wolves, I want to give it a bit more of a cold white theme for the TWC. I am also toying with painting GH's that get the Mark of the Wolfen in white armor and the wolf helm.

Hmmm i'm not sure i agree with this either. There are enough photographs of wolves in the wild or in country parks on google. Don't get me wrong i appreciate the intent and i realise that for some regions etc hunting is a neccessary part of life but hunting for fur to feed the fur industry is barbaric and frankly something that should be stopped, not encouraged.
