Brother 'Ussell
Finally finished! Some of you may remember the WIP shot I posted a few weeks ago, here is the end product. It was a incredible learning experience and I'm really looking forward to starting the next one, It will be nice to be able to move forward on a new project without having all the stumbles along the way I had with this guy. I used Maya, Zbrush and photoshop. Hope you enjoy it! I'm not likely to make any more changes to it but I'd love to hear any and all comments / critiques http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt17/bro_ussell/BlackLegionnaire.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179992-artwork-black-legion-marine/ Share on other sites
Chaptermaster Graymantle
Wow! He looks great! You should try and hint at some dark horrors lurking and swirling like barely seen mist in the darkness. Hope to see more from you in the future too! :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179992-artwork-black-legion-marine/#findComment-2130692 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
Apart from the facial anatomy which looks a bit off - the only thing that I think is missing, is for you to get more experience with textures and lightning. Other than that, Well done (please make some more soon). ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/179992-artwork-black-legion-marine/#findComment-2132648 Share on other sites
Brother 'Ussell
Thanks for the comments guys, CMG: My enviormental skills still need some polishing, hope to have something incorporated into the next one. Nihm: Yeah I wasn't too picky with the anatomical correctness of his skull, I figured hey it's chaos so even though I'm not too into hugely warped/deformed marines, a little bit would be good right? also who knows what having a several millenia year lifespan would do to you. Just putting a helmet on him would have been a lot easier but painting the face was one of the funner parts of this piece.
