CosmicCreations Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Well I'm back again, I cant seem to stay put on one WIP at the moment, and today whilst finishing up a tester model I came across all my old space marines I had forgotten about. This is everything I have at the moment... Command Squad x 2 Commander x 2 Marneus Calgar and Honour Guard Predator Ultramarines Venerable Dreadnought Bikes x 2 Techamrine and Servitors Chaplain Librarian Tigurius (cant remeber how to spell his name) Vanguard Veterans Sternguard Veterans Dreadnought x 2 Terminators x 2 Assault Terminators Devastator squad Assault Squad Combat squad Tactical Squad Scout squad They're all over the place though, different chapters etc, they all need to be stripped and repainted But I dont know what to do with them, I'm tempted to turn the whole lot into an army, it was originally an Ultramarine army, but as time has passed I have changed my mind a number of times. The other option is to just to just treat them all indivdually, paint them how I feel like, no coherence what so ever. I dont actually play the game, only a few muck abouts with my friend, but he's stopped now. What do you lot think? Targol Posted October 4, 2009 Share Posted October 4, 2009 Your marines are well painted except one thing : the halo effect around the eyes isn't smooth enough specially on the green one. It looks very weird, I have the feeling of black eye or some lipstick around the eye. You may try a juice of the armor color to soften that a bit. CosmicCreations Posted November 6, 2009 Author Share Posted November 6, 2009 Ah gotcha :huh:, they were simply painted with blood red, then given a glaze of Baal Red, the progressively lighter coats of Blood red mixed with white, nothing fancy, then I applied a very thin wash of Baal Red around the eyes to create a glowing effect, athough you cant really see it in the pics. It will help distinguish your minis from any 10 year olds ultramarines. The only difference is different shoulder pad trim.
