Thadrash
The terms looks awsome But then so do all of the ones you painted in this thread :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2253345 Share on other sites
Captain Mike
I know how painful no replies feels. This army is great, I like how they are from different chapters. It makes sense for some ulramarines to be the leaders. Damn blues get everywhere :P I'm interested how you do all this without a basecoat. To me they are essential! Lord Mongol
I'd love to see a Rhino done up! Very curious as to what your vehicle techniques look like! CosmicCreations
I'd love to see a Rhino done up! Very curious as to what your vehicle techniques look like! My vehicle techiniques are basically non existent, I have the Novamarine Rhino half painted if you really want to see it? It is no where near finished but the basics are there. I'm interested how you do all this without a basecoat. To me they are essential! haha I've heard that before. I'm not going to lie, I never use basecoats. Never have. I have models on my shelves that have been battered and bruised by bad handling and being stuffed in the bottom of my school bag, and despite a lack of basecoat the paint is as clear and untouched as it was when they were first painted. I'm probably going to be killed for saying that! haha Thanks again everyone Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2253503 Share on other sites

CosmicCreations
this is great , i may have missed it but how have you done your termy faces? they are amazing You have missed it but never fear! :P http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/TerminatorSquad.jpg They all start off with a coat of Bestial brown straight onto the grey plastic, no undercoat. I then just paint on other layers, adding slightly more Bleached Bone, they're the only 2 paints I use for the actual skin ;). Then its just a case of White on the eyes followed by a black dot. NOTE- after looking at that picture the second one from the right looks A LOT better in real life! Hope that helps Barry ;) PM me if you have any mroe questions about the faces. Lord Mongol Posted Today, 01:50 PM Confirmed! Let us witness the progress on Novamarine Rhino! I HATE this rhino, but ok...(and it's unfinished) http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0222.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0221.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0223.jpg As you can see from the last pic with the terminator in, I can paint much better, I'm investing in another airbrush, when I do then I'll respray the Rhino, but you asked so there it is haha And also heres a dread for you Mongol, http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0225.jpg Again he's not the best, I can now do much better, but I'll leave him for a while Thanks everyone : Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2254780 Share on other sites
Capt. Lysander
I actually quite like the rhino: you made the halved scheme work well. I have missed the tutorial for the heads too then :P, thanks ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2256041 Share on other sites
CosmicCreations
Thanks Lysander Moving on to something a little less blue!....well....only half as blue :D I've decided to scrap the current Novamarines, and start fresh. After doing the Termies I've concentrated on tidying up the Nova's what do you think? http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0230.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0231.jpg And a comparison next to the old style scheme http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0232.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2257274 Share on other sites

CosmicCreations
Well Ludovic you didn't have to wait too long.. http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0239.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0241.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/Photo0242.jpg Main thing to finish is the bases, but these three are almost there, and with these colourschemes sorted I'll be doing more over the next few weeks...or months  Daniel Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2257715 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
hm...you could maybe do the red to be a bit darker IMO. it would look better and contrast more with the white. otherwise, you're doing a grand job! (so happy i didn't have to wait long ;)) BBL Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2258432 Share on other sites
Shortsonfire79
Those three marines above look wonderful. The Ultras and Auroras are fantastic too. I must ask, how is it painting on just plastic? Do you get the same, normal type results? Or...what? haha Fantastic. I must ask, how is it painting on just plastic? Do you get the same, normal type results? Or...what? haha Fantastic. Thanks Shorts. As for my painting technique yeah I do get normal results, I find it quite easy to keep concistency and as I've stated before, the lack of undercoat doesn't affect the rate of wear and tear, I've had models for years that have been battered around loosely in my school bag and other than actual broken parts, the paint has remained unchipped. Its just personal preference really. I find it gets the job done and to a good standard. :) Daniel Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2259458 Share on other sites
CosmicCreations
'ello everyone. In the mean time, I've started on the Sons Of Orar combat squad. http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/STP65851.jpg First 2 done, last 3 almost there And heres the finished models altogether http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/STP65856.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Miniatures/STP65863.jpg Til next time, Daniel Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180036-army-restoration/page/5/#findComment-2262193 Share on other sites
