shamen
Ive read all the horus heresy books out in the UK, and is wondering if they will ever get to the end of Heresy? And if so do they have plans to carry on to what happened after, eg. the scourging, the rein of blood etc etc. Plus is this all leading up to the Return of the Emperor bob and his 7 sons for round 2, cos im starting to think GW is playing with fire with all the hinting and riddles about the Golden Throne. The way i see it they might be using the HH novels to flesh out the character of the primarchs and main characters, so when/if they decide to bring out models then we will be more likely to pay the high price to own one. Or then again i could be completely wrong and GW is really run by small minded squats who value gold over customers, what do other members think??? ArcticFox
I think GW may very well be doing it as a one-two marketing stragety. I have no problem with this. A week ago I went to my nearby Battle Bunker and told one of the redshirts "If the Horus Heresy series is meant to inspire people to buy this, it's working." And I held up the Chaos Space Marines Codex I'd just picked up. People talk a lot about the cost of GW stuff but I don't see a problem. For the amount of time I spend on the hobby, painting, playing, reading, chatting with my friends, it's a pretty reasonably priced good time. GW puts out pretty good quality stuff and the support is good. (Ok GW, is my check in the mail yet? :D ) But seriously... You may be right. If so, I see no problem with it. The only complaint I'd have is there's a certain value to the mystery built up around the Golden Throne, some of the primarchs, and the in-game history. The more they flesh out, the less mystery remains. Solid Zaku
I've got a bad feeling about it too. I think somebody might try to kill the Emperor! The more they flesh out, the less mystery remains. Reminds me of Wolverine from X-Men. I personally think he lost alot of his appeal when his past became part of the story, rather than just a big blank.. the mystery added alot to the character, now.. he is just another character. If the Emperor gets his own series of books where he's the godawful Mary Sue on every single page, then he'll be like Logan. There was a reason why X-Men Origins:Wolverine was called the 'Fourth Wolverine Movie' :tu: But I digress, no Power Armour in that series, after all. I say there's still more than enough mystery to the 40k world, even if the entirety of the Horus Heresy gets fully explored from every angle. ForTheLion
Horus Heresy Books what got me into the Warhammer 40k hobby (collecting DA army and painting em) so the more they throw at me during heresy or modern era that has to do with our Bellowed progenitor or the mighty emperor , the better! As far as the return of the emperor id go chek out the lexicanum, those Illuminati threads are gona be spread over the net should the emperor return! Agreed, I look forward to see how the final confrontation will go down in history.. and I want the real, whole story of Sanguinius. Chink, or no chink? That is part of the question.
