On a roll!

the great beaver

3 great opponents with 3 difficult armies meant I had a hell of a slog. I was outnumbered by 2 marine armies and outnumbered by the trooper slog army, but damn do the wolves do their duty! Against the first marine player the highlight of game included my long fangs taking out two of his razorbacks on the same turn my drop podding Grey hunters popped his command rhino with 2 melta gun shots. once his mobility was fried I got to pick the fights and my LRC with 14 BCs a wolf guard with wolf claws and my wolf lord with everything :)

the second game was against another marine player with 4 twin las razorbacks and a Land Raider Redeemer with nothing inside it along with 2 drop podding Ironclads and some Tac squads. On turn 1 the long fangs killed 2 razorbacks which was key to keeping my LRC alive... the LRC took out his redeemer with a meltagun shot and again I had all the mobility I needed to slam my bloodclaws into his tac squad on the objective.

Game 3 was both easy and hard... easy in that i killed something like 10-15 guardsmen a turn but it didn't matter because he had 80 guardsmen on the table...it took so long for my guys to chew through his army and get to the objective that I didn't make it with a run roll of "1" and the game was decided by kill points which i handily won. again the long fangs did a great job taking out every single tranport and even a leman russ making it possible for me to pick the fights and not get decimated by AOEs when the fights were over.

luckily in all these games I didn't have to play dawn of war which would have made the long fangs useless, but since I didn't I'm going to give the MVP award to them since they repeatedly took out key targets early in the game allowing my wolves to pick their fights when and where they chose...also any vehicle designed to take out my LRC was long fang bait and quickly died.

my long fang squad consists of

leader

3Missile launchers

2lascannons

170pts.

Second place goes to the LRC for keeping my bloodclaws alive and for being almost impossible to kill. the new damage table is awesome and armour 14 is hard to kill again!

I figured it out now and once again SPACE WOLVES ROCK!

Well done :D

I have played 3 times, twice against Tau (drew and won, but only drew because i forgot the have the regroup rule......) and i beat Chaos today :D

My MVP was the Thunderhammer Termies as in the two games i won they kept a point held, (i took Logan :D ) and killed 10 Zerkers, Rhino, Defiler, 2 Chaos Termies, 24 Fire Warriors :D.

Then i would have to say my next best unit has been Canis with 10 wolves, he only got into combat once out of the three games, but he killed 4 termies, making abaddon lose by 4 (abaddon rolled a 1.....), and he was on 1 wound, he then killed a few zerkers, and then 1 oblit, before he was slain, and in the other two games, he was a big big distraction with his unit, taking fire in the two games from at least 4 hammerhead blasts, maybe 6, and and HQ squad fire and assult, as well as fire warriors, (keeping them behind cover is a must, and when they can potentially assult 24" there is no reason not to....)

Put simpley SPACE WOLVES OWN, the two games i won, 2nd/3rd turn i was saying i had lost, i had half an army dead, or more, and he had less than a 1/3 dead, but i still prevailed, i would say Wolf Guard are a must, i may have one list, that has Logan, 2 squads of Termies and another 1/2 squads of non termie wolf guard.... (although i don't think Logan is THAT good, i think Ragnar may be better value. to justify 270pts, he needs to be higher Toughness and Strength base, possibley Initiative, and have some other kind of bonus..... re-rolls maybe? (thinking about Abaddons cost.... Abaddon can kill way more than his points if you use him well enough.... i killed half a Nidzilla list or more....)

i think Ragnar may be better value

Eternal Warrior is worth the extra points by itself.

I agree against monsters but I've been playing a lot of imperial guard recently and it hasn't been very useful...except that I always take lascannon shots on my wolf lord with saga of the bear

Nice brother!

I have only had the priviledge of one game against Daemons (I also happened to want to try out new Rune Priest powers so perfect opponent) and managed to scrape a win, it was difficult though, they're quite nasty with those flamers!

congrats! the new wolves arent broken by a long shot and it will take some getting used to less powerfists and more short ranged guns...if they bring flamers, bring 2 flamers for response!

Nice batrep! What point value were the games and what was your battle force?

the first against marines was 1500, the second against marines was 1750 and the third against guard was 1500. I also played 3-4 games before that but they were all ties because i was getting used to the new way that wolves play.
