Chompers
Got a little project on the go, building a land raider. Problem is closest thing I own to a tank is a dreadnought, so I'm not sure whether its the right size (approximately). Bit late to change it now if the sizings off but it'd be great to know for next time (threw a marine in with the pics for scale).http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy255/chompers99/IMG_1799.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy255/chompers99/IMG_1798.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180181-scratch-raider/ Share on other sites
Alys Dwr
Looks about the right size to me. I've got a set of templates, wondering if they are the same one's you are using? Good luck, i'll keep an eye on this and see how it goes. sgtNACHO
I actually think its a little tall, usually a marine can't walk through the front hatch, that looks like he could stroll right on threw just fine. I wouldn't worry a ton about scale like that. Unless your playing the worlds most observant Fluff nazi, or you actually mention it. You should be fine  Just make sure your close enough Good luck Fellow! jester_prince
To be fair i think its more to scale then the games workshop version, as said above a normal marine cant fit in a landraiders hatch on the real model, yours is much more to scale B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180181-scratch-raider/#findComment-2134877 Share on other sites
Chompers
Well I was expecting to be considerably further along with this thing by now, but I've found that I tear more pieces off than I glue back on. Now that the majority of the body is shaped out, I've abandoned the templates, have been finding it easier to just work from pictures of finished raiders. Deviated from the plans with the treads a bit, but I wanted to make them a bit more in line with real tread (plus the thought of cutting out dozens of tread pieces from plasticard gives me the shivers). Hopefully I'll be into the fun stuff (guns) pretty quick. C&C welcome. http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy255/chompers99/IMG_1802.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy255/chompers99/IMG_1803.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy255/chompers99/IMG_1804.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180181-scratch-raider/#findComment-2140652 Share on other sites
Lastman
That's a nice piece of work. I agree that your scale looks better than GWs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180181-scratch-raider/#findComment-2140956 Share on other sites
