The army started out with khorne and I have been slowly adding more painted units from the other legions. Currently I have over 14,000 points of Chaos of which over 6000 points are fully painted. I figured since I was bored at work i would start posting some of the models I have finished painting. My photo skills are not the best but they will have to do. Garou24 Posted October 3, 2009 Author Share Posted October 3, 2009 The Black Hand symbol is a decal I made so i can size up large for rhino doors, or small for shoulderpads and they all look the same. @Bjorn, I get the word bearers a lot lol. I actually started painting them before i even picked up a Chaos codex. Turns out my color scheme of Dark Red and silver trim was already taken by the word bearers, oh well! For now I use them as a Renegade force that has all 4 chaos gods. Maybe if the next Chaos codex comes out with special word bearer rules I can use those. Muskie Posted October 4, 2009 Share Posted October 4, 2009 Ever met a special character you didn't want in your army? I guess a couple. I think you need more basic troopers to go with all your HQ. I painted my squads that had different purposes different colors. The problem with that is I had to paint more and more special weapons and basic dudes as the rules changes. My new strategy is no squad markings on the Nefarious Fire. I use bases, shoulder pads, helmets, backpacks, to tell squads a part. I'm also just painting a new special, a new heavy, and a new icon when I want to change squads. The magnetic icon is OK idea, but I do some really cool icon bearer conversions so I don't mind painting an extra one or two. It is bolter dudes I'm sick of. Even special weapon guys. I like to paint models with H2H weapons. I'm not so keen on bigger models, but I have to paint like four APCs in the future, plus probably a tank, dread, etc. etc. So much to paint so little energy. I will round up more photos of troops as i get them to go with my HQs :) Seems I never run out of stuff to paint. Thanks! I have my eye on some forgeworld Nurgle marine sprues, those seem neat, but I will have to see how they look before I snag them. I am going to try and get more photos uploaded tonight. A bit of decay and the likes is fine though. And a swampy, decaying colorscheme in my eyes already gives a nice eerie edge to models. Not to mention they're in plastic... I like the brightness of the red so i think i will use this color for the Khorne terminators and berserkers I also got from Forge World. I am not sure how to get them anymore. I checked GW's site but they just have the metal terminator claws. I got these from a friend at the game shop. Everytime I beat him I got a pair lol.
