the great beaver
do you guys think that the 13th company models would be ridiculous as grey hunters with mark of the wulfen? in the codex it shows a guy with a diamond painted onto his face and I thought that that wasn't enough. I just wish I could find some of the boxes! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180357-13th-company-models/ Share on other sites
Wispy
I think the diamond is enough. I prefer it to look subtle, and leave the rest to my imagination. Some people like full blown werewolves, though, but I say leave that to the 13th Company. Night Runner
I don't think MOTW is suitable for full blown wulfen either, but I don't see why you should not use them. I was going to but the idea just didn't appeal to me. I think I'll try make them as wild and feral looking as possible, maybe paint in some yellow irises and skull-like war-paint. As for the models, you can find them on ebay.com, but they are rather expensive since they are now out of production. Good luck with them. isilder
I plan on using the wulfen model as the marine with MOTW as it is an easy way to tell which model it is. There is also a wolfs head helmet in the new Space wolfs pack which i plan to use as well Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180357-13th-company-models/#findComment-2135764 Share on other sites
Firenze
I think models with MotW should look suitably wolfy. And look at least a little more feral than a marine with triganometry for a face. Also, welcome, isilder, to the Fang. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180357-13th-company-models/#findComment-2135768 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
I dont think that wulfen would run around covered in parts of chaos armor..... so no to Grey Slayers or Stormclaws. But if you meant the 13nth co Wulfen Models? Sure why not- its unique, and makes for easy recognition. pritchardbrown
I intend to use wulfen as you describe - maybe I will add in one or two normal arms to make them look less werewolf like and this will will allow you to put a power sword or bolter in (though one of the models comes with a bolter and one with a power sword). IMHO if you paint the flesh a lighter colour this will also make them look more 'mark of wulfen' rather than full on wulfen. Lastly you will obviously have to remove all chaos traces - which is mainly on the legs. On the model holding a head you just need to cut off the whole left leg, which is pretty easy to do, and put a normal marine leg in its place. I would also cut off his right arm and replace it with a normal arm holding a bolter. The model with the bolter and the running model (with his left leg in the air) are pretty much OK but both have a chaos knee pad which woud need to be trimmed down a bit (a job for a dremel or some similar tool with a little green stuff to smooth it out after). If that does not work then just replace both left lower legs. I will also replace the left arm of the running model as it is completely bare and very werewolf like. The model with the chain sword is harder - I will try to use my dremel (well dremel like Skil tool) to trim off the chaos markings on the lower leg but if that fails I will have to cut off both lower legs and replace them with space marine parts. I need that to work well because I have already put twin wolf claws on that model and intend to run him as a lone wolf - which of course is an ideal way to use these wulfen models. Lastly there is one running model with his right leg in the air. He has a chaos torso and, for me, would be impossible to change. Overall I really want to use these models - I think they are wonderful expressive sculpts and it would be a shame to leave them out, so good luck. Lord Ragnarok
My old fluff has my GC absorbing a 13 co. Warband so I'll be using the wulfen models. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180357-13th-company-models/#findComment-2136593 Share on other sites
