How Wolfy were the Luna Wolves?

The very first mention of the 'Horus Heresy' in some very early 40k material was just a throw-away paragraph of flavour text. Horus was merely referred to a mighty human general; he wasn't a Primarch (they hadn't been invented then), or even a Space Marine, nor was there any mention of Chaos I believe.

So don't worry too much about where his first name came from, it was probably chosen simply because it sounded good and flowed well, as others have suggested. :)

As for Lupercal, well that came later in the HH books, and again I'd just suggest that it was just something Dan Abnett picked because it sounded cool, rather than for any deep and meaningful reason. :)

Keep in mind that only the Emperor's Children wore armor adorned with the Aquila prior to the Heresy. The Aquila was added to Loyalist power armor by the decree of the Emperor in order to more easily differentiate the loyalist legionnaires from the heretics.

My buddy an I both have Heresy Era Legions. I wish I had done more homework and was less of a spendthrift because now when I look at my Sons of Horus, it screams SUBSTANDARD. Thankfully my Horus and Abaddon conversions rock haha

My friend on the other hand bought all assault marine torsos! so there are no Aquilas and the jetpack harness looks like the older power armor variant.
