volfbjorn
Hello folks i am a little bit confused about those wolves that can accompany Ragnar . In the book says that if you pick Fen wolves for a char they count as a wargear. the points is what happened if Ragnar decides to get those 2 wolves and join a unit would that be legal ? or wolves although that count as a wargear, are a kind of retinue to ragnar ? . that was the 1st question . Now the Second one is what happens if a PF or anything that targets Ragnar, hit him could he use the wolves as a meatshield , and avoid the risk of dying ? . Thx in advance :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180361-question-about-rangar/ Share on other sites

Thx in advance  I believe they work upon a similar principle as Tau Drones. The Character, and his Wolves, may join/leave units as an Independent Character, and in combat, the Character and his Wolves are treated as a separate unit. I do believe that also answers your second question, whereby the Wolves will take hits for the Character until they are dead. volfbjorn
so if that's correct we do have those wolves to save us for an instant death hit right ? Moongob
yes. I not sure it's officially say but it's normaly work like the black templar cenobyte: the chaplain and cenobye work as a unit (so you allocate the hit beetween each) but steel can join other unit with the independent charactere rules. stinkenheim
they don't stop him from joining other units, but as he is an idenpendant character and they do not have the retinue rule, you can still target him so unfortunately you will still get a powerfist in his face... best make sure you kill the unit in one turn :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180361-question-about-rangar/#findComment-2135922 Share on other sites
