Well that kinda sucks.

 

Yes and no.

 

By end of next year I plan to have a IP painted to match his dedicated 1000 year old LRR. The LRR is on a personal indefinit loan from The Great Wolf himself earned on the field of battle (story later). The idea is that both the IP and LRR will be painted outside of my armies colors and not carry any wolf lord insignias. With him will be 4 cyber wolves and 3 servs.

 

Nice little plug the hole force for 150-170+LRR. IP can not be targeted in CC and has a cheap effective unit for wound allocation.

This is the way I ansewered it for myself.

 

In C:CM servitors have Mind Lock when a IP is not around which means they can keep fighting when he is not around as ours do not suffer from Mindlock they operate as normal.

 

Same as cyber wolves as Fen wolves will die when the unit taking them dies, but they did not mention cyber wolves in this rule. I believe it to be on purpose for the sake of the IP.

Thats one other thing I wish they would have notated in dex. Can Fen Wolves or Cyber Wolves keep up with a IC or the IP while on a bike.

Fen Wolves and Cyber wolves are beasts, so they move like infantry. The fen and cyber would lose their fleet and 12" assault though, because of the slower movement of the IP and servitors. Bike for IP would be a waste, if he is with Cyber and would have to move 6" instead of the bike distance. No mind lock on servitors is definitely a plus. Cyber wolves and servitors appear to be wargear in the case of the IP, so putting that unit in a ride with Saga of the Iron Wolf, may be a faster ride.

 

EDIT: Took out the line " Would seem that the unit still lives if the IP dies." It is not clear what happens to the servitors, but the wolves would drag the IP away, if he dies. So the wolves would leave the field.
