Eesoteric
One aspect that separates SW minis from other space marine minis is the wolf pelt. How do you paint wolf pelts? What colors/techniques do you use? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180414-painting-pelts/ Share on other sites

Chucku
I like black-pelted wolves with a couple of shades of grey dry-brushed over it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180414-painting-pelts/#findComment-2136685 Share on other sites
TeamLando
From the bottom to the top I use, Scoced brown, scorched brown+bestial brown, esert yellow, bleached bone, bleacjed bone + white, plus additional scorhed brown+water washes when needed. I guess I could post some pics from it when some of my new wolves are done.. trying to make them look 'eavy metal-styel.. and damn, it's almost working O_O; Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180414-painting-pelts/#findComment-2136689 Share on other sites

Canis Wolfborn
It depends on what colour the pelt will be: 1. Paint the base coat colour. 2. Progressively dry brush with lighter and lighter colors (with decreasing area coverage as you switch to lighter colors) I like to think of the way the drybrush colours are layered is like a topography map. Lighter colours are on top of darker colours, and the higher the elvation the lighter and vice versa. EDIT: If you like the effect you can wash it with an ink afterwards.
