Bling Marines...

Okay, so after putting together and starting to paint some terminators...I have to say this...the new molds for the Termies, really really really play into painting alot of awesome gold accessory bits!!! And from the pics of the Grey Hunter box, the same can be said...

On the other hand alot of the accessory bits could be painted like rare stones as well!!!

does anyone else notice this about the molds? or is it just me?

I love copper and bronze, alot. I have all kinds of copper and bronze accessories tacked on to different things, and a few sword/axe heads too. From the looks of things it will be hard to keep from going gawdy with these new bitz. I think for now I am goign to keep working on finishing up my LONG overdue base painting for my army, but I do agree with you.

We are going to see some crazy wolves.

Yep, seems to me the wolves have a developed an eye for the more elabrate power armor. I don't mind the wolfy bits so much as the flares of raised edges are a little to much.

With the Space Wolves Pack box, it is obvious some bit legs are to go with a matching chest piece. Just overkill, like some others have said, best to spread it out a bit amongst old wolves or SM, LF kits and bits.

Vrox.

yeah, but we're usually looking at Ultramarines who wear all that ornate crap because they can't fight. They figure "If I look big and scary and shiny, maybe the enemy won't come over and gut me!"

But meh. I guess we can't begrudge the boys a few baubles and trinkets...

I think it is refreshing to have some bitz and iconography to fall back on which ISN"T steeped in Greek or roman culture. I hate green and roman culture, and I don't want it on my minis in any way shape or form. Besides EVERY Chapter is supposed to have ornate iconography, most don't because the only bitz they churn out are for the five ultramarine players and the one person at GW who apparently has enough power to keep them the 'most popular' chapter.
