Open-topped and fleet-assaulting

So an Ork opponent of mine moved 12", disembarked from a trukk (open-topped), Waagh-fleeted and assaulted.

Fine, but then I saw this on the FAQ:

Q. Can a unit with the Fleet special rule assault

after disembarking from a transport?

A. No, it cannot. The Fleet rule simply removes

the prohibition of assaulting after running.

Is this just a clarification for Eldar players etc. who might think that they can move 12", get out of a Wave Serpent, fleet and assault?

Or could the Orks not have fleet-assaulted out of their trukk?

It seems to me that the former is correct.. but I felt that I should stick this question up here anyway.

That's a badly worded answer on that FAQ.

You can't assault after a normal vehicle moves, regardless of Fleet.

You can assault after an Assault (or Open-Topped) Vehicle moves.

Yep, it's legal.

you can't disembark from an enclosed vehicle and assault (if it moved. If the vehicle hasn't moved before disembarkation, then the passengers can get out and move/assault.)

Open-topped vehicles do not have this restriction.

Nor do assault vehicles like the land raider crusader.
