Whitewolf
Okay, I have a question here. I know that they allow us to re-roll hit or wounds. What I do not understand is the matching of them. I do not see a benefit of having a model with two claws. I would imagine that it would be for an extra CC attack. However, my thought on this is that if he has a BP or PP he would still get the extra CC attack for the extra weapon. Although I have to admit the TWC looks nice, there is a loss of fire power from one model in the squad because he has TWC instead of one WC and a ranged weapon. Aa far as I can tell having the extra claw does not mean you can re-roll hits or wounds it is an ability of the weapon and not the pair. Could someone please clear this up for me? I am working on my Termies and at least one LW (although I am not sure how to kit him yet) and want to make sure I do not weaken them any more than needed (if that is even possible). hendrik
it is indeed for the extra attack bonus:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180623-wolf-claws/#findComment-2138718 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Wolf Claws are "A varient" of Lightning Claws, so would follow the LC restriction on extra attacks int he main book. You would need two WC (or a WC and a LC, if you could purchase one...) to get the additional Close Combat Attack. With the new rules, there are certain weapons that no longer get the extra attack bonus unless paired with a second of it's type. Lightning Claws Wolf Claws Thunder Hammers Power Fists Chain Fists These must be taken in pairs in order to get the combat bonus. A single Wolf Claw with a Bolt Pistol allows you to shoot, but you do not get the +1 Attack bonus in combat. Whitewolf
Thanks for clarifying that for me. However, do they not brake there own rule with lucas the trickster? He has a WC and a PP. Course I am at work and do not have my dex handy to check out his stats again. Spacefrisian
Why would they brake it, he doesn't gain an extra attack, does he? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180623-wolf-claws/#findComment-2138773 Share on other sites
DV8
Why would they brake it, he doesn't gain an extra attack, does he? No rules are broken. He simply has a custom Wolf Claw, and a Plasma Pistol. He does not gain the +1 Attack Bonus for two hand weapons in combat. Gentlemanloser
Single Wolf Claws/Lightning Claws are sometimes chosen over Power Weapons for consistency. On average, they work out the same Marines killed as a PW with +1 Attack. But the PW+BP combo can hit more, or less, the LC a more steady average.
