Grimtooth
So I have a list I am working on and while I already have 5 units coming in via drop pods, I have a Long Fang squad leftover that I can either toss in a razorback with twin linked lascannons or in another pod. I am leaning towards the razorback, but doesn't seem very list consistent if I have 5 pods and then deploy a tank with my heavy weapons squad. On the other hand, if I go with a pod, I am drifting away from the magic number 5 for drop pod assault. Opinions? stinkenheim
surely there is no difference between 5 and 6 pods, you still get 3 down on the first turn either way dont you?? i wouldn't take them personally in a full drop list, their heavy weapons seem a bit redunant when they can't shoot from the off... i'd look at maybe a squad of wolf guard with combi weapons, maybe a termi with CML Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180656-long-fangs-and-drop-lists/#findComment-2139011 Share on other sites
Screwhead
Throw Grimnar in the pod, give 'em a WG in TDA w/CML as well, and have Logan grant his squad Relentless at the start of the turn.. I'll bet that would be a hell of an unexpected move the first couple of times :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180656-long-fangs-and-drop-lists/#findComment-2139112 Share on other sites

Because even if they dont get to shoot the turn they come in they can atleast run into a building with good firing lines... or you can just deploy them, allowing more of your pods to come in- or at the very least place it somewhere to block your enemies LOS. It adds a little adaptability, and if you use this as the core of a list to upgrade with itll be nice to have. Remember- there is no rule Anywhere stating that a unit must deploy in its dedicated transport. Razorbacks, particularly lonely razorbacks, explode quickly I find. Though I gotta say, if your looking at a 75pt razorback... and Long Fangs... have you considered a pair of Dreadnaughts in DPs? I dont know what the rest of your list looks like, but it might work out for you. Cyclops
Stick the Long Fangs in a Razorback. You can say they were scouting around for enemies, found a large force, and as the Long Fangs set up on a hill for the enemies that were advancing in their direction, the tell-tale sign of drop pods appeared in the sky.... The Long Fangs called for the fighting forces....
