vette114
Ok I am an admitted wolf noob so I had a question as to the benefit of splitting wolf guard. Is it to spread strong characters across the map. Is it for leadership? I'm just a little confused as I sit and build my list. Thanks for the info MC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180668-splitting-wolf-guard/ Share on other sites

Grey Mage
Ok I am an admitted wolf noob so I had a question as to the benefit of splitting wolf guard. Is it to spread strong characters across the map. Is it for leadership? I'm just a little confused as I sit and build my list. Thanks for the info MC Those are all good reasons- Strong abilities added to almost any squad, improved Leadership, and frankly TDA adds alot of survivability to a footslogging list, thought not as much as it used to. Also so you can make the most out of that elite slot- you can take 10, but you wont often have the room for them all in one transport, or need them all in one squad... so spreadem out. Frankly though, I havent taken pack leaders more than one game in 15 for the last three years- expensive stuff those WG. Now with GH being 3pts cheaper per guy, and cheaper on their ranged weapons, I think Ill finally feel free to spend those points. Woulfeheart
Yes, but the problem with the new system is that if you give one squad a Wolf Guard Pack Leader, then you have to have at least three. The way it works is you reassign Wolf Guard to other units specified in their entry. Also, I noticed you can't attach them to Skyclaw units, but you CAN give them Jump Packs. Is this an oversight, or is this meant more to have a unit of jumping wolf guard? Grey Mage
Well find out if they FAQ it I suppose. And taking three of them, if your taking them, is rarely a hardship.
