I use the Avatar of Aurellius by Reaper miniatures and just used GS and added a forgeworld terminator pad. Other than that, it looks pretty good. I dig the red wings (even if i hate that particular painting.) I've been trying to compile ideas myself for a kit bashed Sang. As I recall Sangunius was strangled to death as well as psykically destroyed. And I think it looks better as red and it makes my model different. Plus the rent in his armour is on his torso so how did all that blood get on the top of his wings but not a single smug on the very top? His wings weren't cut or then there would be blood in his hair and where is the blood stains on his armour? Also the red blood mixing the white wings would make more of a pink. Inquisitor_Lensoven Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 i don't think there is a full account of the fight, but i find it rather silly to think the only wounds he received was the death blow, and the blood on most of his wings is due to the fact that it puddles, you put enough red on white and it will be red, just like you can still see one or two white feathers poking out. any way, i never said you were wrong to paint it that way, but you said you painted it based on that pic. besides, if his death was strangulation, and psychic trauma only then there shouldn't be any blood at all, which wouldn't make for a very dynamic painting. but it is a nice looking model.
