Token
Does a wolflord with thunderwolf steed and thunderhammer have a sterngth of 9 or 10? The fast attack choice thunderwolf cavalry would atleast have strength 10 with a thunderhammer? How does the rending on the cavalry work? Excuse me if this has allready been answered in a errata, i dont know where to find them on the gw site.. VorpalDoom
Strength 10 all the way. When you obtain a special CCW, you lose rending, it's actually all in the Codex. The Thunderwolf gives you actual Strength, like Toughness (unlike bikes, with their fake toughness!) In a standard FoC, wolves have the potential to pump out 8 models with S10 in combat... not even 'nids can do that! hilander
Unfortunately with the current wording it is strength 9....base times two plus one...cavalry has its base of 5 so they get strength 10. But I hope it gets FAQ'ed as Canis entry leaves to believe that mount should change your base profile. Brother-Captain Sicarius
In a standard FoC, wolves have the potential to pump out 8 models with S10 in combat... not even 'nids can do that! not that it realy matter, but i get 10 moddels... 4 hq (lords and WGBL's), 3 elite (iron priests) and 3 fast attack (TWC) :P or have i missed somthing? Token
hm, not sure if the thunderwolf lord is worth the points with only a strength of 9.. Was thinking of using a inquisitor scale space marine as a huge thunderwolf modell, perhaps a 1 modell 110p thunderowolf cavalry is worth it instead of a very expensive lord. VorpalDoom
Eek, my bad... it is indeed 10, I was thinking Arjac... forgot about Iron Preists... but they suck! 1 wound thunderwolf cav for around 100 points? Yuck! I can't believe I forgot Dreadnoughts! How silly of me. 10 strength 10 models.... if you want to get into shooting, we're, of course, looking at 13 models that can dish out the S10 smack down.... and if you want to get really literal, since "Arjac" is an upgrade... you might be able to squeeze in 6 wolf guard units with him... bringing out grand total to 17 units with something that can smack a b with S10.... mmm.... certainly going to need a hefty point value game to get that many! Gentlemanloser
But as stated above, the WL (Or WGBL) or IP only hit at S9... You can get Arjak (As a Troop Choice with Logan), Bjorn, 3x Elite Dread, and Three Fast TWC hitting on S10. So 8. :P Edit: Arjak is Unique. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180863-thunderwolf-character-with-thunderhammmer/#findComment-2141339 Share on other sites
Durfast Spiritwolf
There's a discussion on this in the FAQ thread - shall we just say that opinion is divided...
