Wolf Lord Loki
Hey all, I've been a long term Space Wolf player now returning to the fang after persuing sever other armies and i see that the true wolves of Fenris have recieved a greater position in this codex (they have there own unit). To me this is great news - I'd like more of my character to have them in tow (after all whats more fitting than a viking lord and his war dogs striding into battle?) But... I don't like the Games Workshop wolves. Never have really. Even worse my internet searchs have failled to fine anything better! Games Workshop seem to do the best quality ones around. Does anyone have a better source for wolves with a bit of variety to make up a pack of fenrisian wolves? Uthred Ragnarson
I guess GW will eventually release some new models if you can wait that long, maybe try Dire Wolves from Fantasy unless those are the ones you don't like? It's like the people who call into radio shows and say 'long time listener, first time caller" as if they are special. stinkenheim
try searching and you will find that this has been discussed a lot recently (and a long time ago too, but hey hey) http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...mp;hl=fenrisian Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180912-the-wolves-of-fenris/#findComment-2141992 Share on other sites
Wolf Lord Loki
Actually I dont often visit the Space Wolve boards cos i was working on my White Scars or Orks and i tend to focus on one army at a time. I had no idea that the Fang had become so snobbish. If you must know I started collecting space wolves back in the mid-90's and switched over to White Scars for a new challenge when GW released the first plastic space marine sets. Largely though my Space Wolf linage has no relivence to the topic at hand. I only mentioned it as an introduction to my question and incase I'd missed previous similar topics. @Uthred: I'm not a fan of the ones that the Goblin wolf riders type but I shall have a good look at the dire wolves, cheers for the suggestion! @stinkenheim: Thanks thats quite helpful - trawling through it all now!! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180912-the-wolves-of-fenris/#findComment-2142002 Share on other sites
stinkenheim
i dont think the majoriy of people here are getting snobbish, more likely they are getting fed up with the same questions being asked again and again (e.g does a wolf guard count as one of the 10 men for a gh squads second weapon??)... also with all he new recruits (or those returning like yourself) the ales beggining to run out and that gets everyone ratty... i kept telling people the serfs were slacking but would they listen, no... so dont mind me, i got some homebrew gutrot back in my room that im gonna start working through now... if anyone wants me i'll be concious again in about 4 days... Wolf Lord Loki
Well have no fear I wasn't going to ask those questions! And I understand that when ale runs low Space Wolves get cranky! Would that unconsciousness be caused by stampeding Space Wolves homing in on your newly revealed stash of booze?!! :) @MaveriK: I started in second edition and did graduate to the last codex. Lol! I have to say that I've liked all the lists they've had. I recon that its only because the 3rd ed list was so well writen that it stood the test of time for as long as it did! I do both collecting and playing but sometime focus on one at a time! The Wolves were my first army and have always been one of my favourates so when the new dex came out it was a no brainer! My Orks have hit 3k and can take a hiatus, I have half a brotherhood of White Scars (but am fed up of all the painting white!!) so time to dust off Loki Siegebreaker and go slay some foes!
