XV42 Havok
I found this nice and quick little idea while experimenting with mixing paints: Firstly Chaos Black Undercoat http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee255/cuidado4289/motor006.jpg Next, Orkhide Shade http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee255/cuidado4289/motor007.jpg Finally, Badab Black Wash http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee255/cuidado4289/motor010.jpg Then add the additional Blood Red items. Let me know if its any good or not, I'm working on a way to get more highlighting detail C & C welcome? A17roolz
Looks good to me, though the wash doesn't really stand out in that picture. Maybe a second coat would make the model look a little more 3D? (Just thinking of giving readers an idea of how much shading there should be). Otherwise seems like a pretty solid painting tutorial, I was thinking of using a similar method for painting my Smurfs, however, it's difficult to comment without seeing how the non-green bits would look in comparison but so far so good! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/180967-quick-and-effective-way-to-paint-dark-angels/#findComment-2142807 Share on other sites
jipimus
I do mine a little differently, chaso black base coat, quick stroke of d'angels green on raised areas then highlight edges with goblin green et voila super dark, dark angels (quite quickly as well). Aerixis
Yeah man thats awesome, thats what I use for my Angels of Redemption! I'm really perdantic with my highlights though, I take off from where you stopped, blend a snot green highlight up a little, then a final highlight of goblin green on corners and such. But orkhide shade and badab black is a gorgeous result, great work!
