Ikken
the new codex keeps referring to the wolf guard as body guards of the wolf lord , but in the rules makes no mention of them being a retinue or having to be attached to the wolf lord . can they operate on their own , separate from the wolf lord or IC? I can't see anything that says they can't but I am sure to get challenged on it with the way I am going to try and run them . ( I have some spare points , and plan to spend them on 2 WG terminators that will wander arround getting shot at and maybe kill something ) the other question i have on them is in regards to kill points . I am actually taking 5 WG and assigning 3 of them as WGPL leaving 2 in the squad in terminator armor . if the termies are killed but one or more of the WGPLs survive the battle do I give up a kill point ? my thought is yes I give up the kill point . 2nd lets say I was not running any termies and all my wg are assigned as WGPLs , if all the WGPLs are killed do I give up a kill point ? JamesI
For the Kill point question, once the pack leaders are broken off, they shouldn't be considered part of the Wolf Guard squad anymore. So, if the Wolf Guard squad gets wiped, its akill point. Ikken
the min squad size is 3 so why 5? 3 to act as WGPLs in 3 dif squads , and the other 2 as a pair of free roaming terminators , just because I had an extra 66 points . still not sure it is a good idea , but they might be handy .
