Darkseer
Okay, even though I painted him in a single evening, I've never had such a challenge. So much detail! So many times his staff gets in the way or obscures your vision. So many times I came close to making a fatal slip with the brush. But finally, he is done. He's an epic saga in painting himself and here's me doing it quickly with washes. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn121/AMBSphotobucket/njal4.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181037-njal-stormcaller-is-a-nightmare-to-paint/ Share on other sites

Darkseer
I'll have an easy to follow painting guide on the Space Wolves blog in a few weeks hopefully. It's just a basecoat, wash, drybrush and then paint the details (usually with a single colour, then a wash) Works though! Heimdal
Hardest model you´ve painted? pfft! Doesnt look like that. Because its stunning! Your choice of colors is great, to say the least. I´m very interested in how you painted the face (including the beard). I, for one, cant faces even if my life depends on it. deedark
Just based and undercoated my Njal, great model, will use yours as inspiration. I've decided to paint him without the arms on, I figured as you seem to have confirmed that staff was going to be a pain to get round and there is so much detail behind it Great Job D. I used Khardic Flesh from Privateer Press for my skin colour. It usually takes 1 coat and a watered down coat for consistent colours. Add Gyrphonne Sepia wash DONE! I then painted his tongue Macherite Red, his teeth Skull White and his eyes Skull White also. Beard was Codex Grey, Badab Black wash, then highlighted VERY carefully with tiny lines of Space Wolves grey.
