Hrathnar Flintfang
The chapter master for my first Custom Chapter on B&C, the Fox Claws. C and C are always welcomed, and I would love to see what people think of the chapter, its characters, and its formations all of which are upcoming. Fox Claws proto IA Ri Lugh, The Hunter Lord Points: 220 Born to humble beginnings to a small family among on of Erus' smaller tribes, Lugh distinguished himself from an early age as a skilled and determined warrior. Lugh often excelled at hiding himself away for hours when playing with his friends and by the time of his tenth birthday the boy was able to conceal himself for days if he so desired, hidden away from both wild beasts and his own clansmen. Everyone in Lughs tribe expected great things from the youth when it came time to send him on his first Long Hunt. The simple clansfolk and hunters of Erus could have no way of knowing how right they truly were. The Quill Lords, a Raven Guard Successor chapter making its way home from a campaign against marauding chaos marines stopped in orbit around Erus to observe the world for suitable warriors to help replenish their dwindling numbers. Lugh was among those boys chosen by the observing warriors in the sky because of his great skills in stealth and survival. These skills were further honed over the coming decades as the young man preformed wtih exemplary efficiency and level headedness on dozens of valuable infiltration and research gathering missions. In his last few months under the Colors of the Quill Lords Lugh had become the favorite of 10th company captain Bryce and was often put on important infiltration missions before the proper tactical squads, including one lead by his childhood acquaintance and fellow Erusian Bres, were sent into the theater of combat to soften up opposing forces. Because of his sterling reputation and the fact that he was a native Erusian Lugh was a natural choice to be one of the marines sent to help found a new chapter intended to protect the poorly guarded swath of space around Erus and other nearby star systems. he and 21 other marines, most of whom were native Erusians, set off to their homeworld where they quickly began the process of setting up a Fortress monistary and seeking worthy candidates to join the new chapter of space marines. Lugh was immediately chosen to lead the chapters 10th company and as such spearheaded the selection of troops from among the young men participating in the Long Hunt. As such Lugh knew most of the first Snow Foxes personally. this is perhaps why he has taken to leading each assault or operation personally whenever possible. In the months following the Talris Massacar Lugh spent every waking moment reflecting on how close the brand new chapter had come to extinction. Having witnessed rigid tactics leading to so many deaths on Talris the newfound Chapter Master decided that a change was needed if his brothers were to survive. In the coming years the Fox Claws as they came to be known eschewed many points of conventional codex wisdom in favor of Erusian hunting and raiding practices. Lugh was also responsible for such acts as provoking more elaborate and costly raids between clans to weed out weak warriors and using the Short Hunt' tactic that now characterizes Fox Claw combat doctrine. Lugh has proven himself to be a capable, reliable and devoted leader, using traditional Druidic circles as a way to keep himself 'honest' and refusing to send any of his men into a situation that he himself would not fight in. This includes suicide missions which he is often unable to go on simply because he is the Chapter Master. Some of the brothers among the Fox Claws have begun to suspect that Lugh blames himself for the incident on Talris and that he feels the only way to make amends is to ensure that his brothers have a fighting chance. These practices are highly discouraged by the Druids who seem to worry that their leader has perhaps developed a death wish, or at the very least an unhealthy reckless streak. When in battle Lugh Wields two leaf bladed power swords, the only remaining weapons among those awarded to the original twenty two Quill Lords chosen to start the chapter. In spite of his exceptional aim the Ri has chosen to focus on honing his skills with the two blades, now known as the Fox Fangs, so that they may serve as a symbol of where the chapter has been and what they can accomplish. In addition to this Lugh is also in possession of two strange gauntlets that were discovered by a 10h company Gunmaster on Talris and sent to the Chapter Master as a gift. These two power armor bracers each contain a small but powerful plasma emitter held within a blister on the back of each bracer. These two emitters, when fired in concert, have the same kick to them as a plasma rifle and as such have been dubbed the sleátine or 'Spear of Fire'. Lugh seems well aware of the danger that could come from wearing non-STC plasma devices on his wrists but has yet to show any outward signs that he really cares which sadly gives credence to the worries of the Druids. All friendly units gaining a cover save increase that save by +1, to a maximum of +2. Further all foes who would gain a cover save reduce that save by -1. This ability can negate cover saves. Frosty the Pyro
I never thought I would actualy say this on these boards, but overpriced. Base chaptermaster stats 100pts power weapons x2 30pts plasma rifle 15 pts artifacer armor 15 points so thats 160 then you have scout, acute, and infiltrate and lose chapter tactics, throw that in at +5 heck if it wasnt for the fact you are going past the default number of weapons (2) I would give you a discount on the two power swords (as a powersword and bolt pistol would provide the same effect). So unless their is some other special rule you forgot (or some interaction with a special rule of a different unit/character) you have no need to pay 220 for this. Hrathnar Flintfang
Nope, I wasn't planning on giving him any special abilities really, I just figured that since he had a plasma rifle built in and two power swords it should up the cost a bit, the whole 'i have more weapons than I should' shtick. Still I think that you may be right. I couldprobably drop him down in price to under 200 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181091-ri-lugh-the-hunter-lord/#findComment-2146837 Share on other sites
