Rule Clarification

Hail Brothers!

As I'm sure many of your were, I was super excited for our new dex. While I'm mostly happy with it there are a few things that urk me (like why we have to pay so much for dual wolf claws as well as our storm shields) but that is a thread for another time.

The sticky FAQ is quite useful and I praise everyone who contributed to it (I have yet had the chance to read through it all so please forgive me if these two questions have been addressed there already).

1) What does the term "TDA" stand for. In the FAQ it is brought up that "frost blades can not be used in TDA". What the heck does that mean? The term is used here and there on other forums too and I feel really stupid for not knowing it.

2) This is the main point of the whole thread. When are wolf standards activated? No where in the description does it say when they are used. I am thinking that it is meant to be used in the shooting phase since is says "for the duration of the NEXT assault phase". But from the wording it sounds as if you can use it anytime (your opponent's turn for instance). And even if you can't, the wording makes it sound that if you activate it in your own assault phase it will take effect in the assault phase of your opponent's turn? I would just like some thoughts on this because I am clueless.

TDA=Tactical Dreadnought Armour, aka Terminator armour

Hmmm, I'll have to check my codex, but I think RAI would have it activated in the phase/turn you intend to use it, whether its yours or the enemy's assualt phase.

Reading the rules for it, it doesn't state when to activate. Just once per game. I think you activate it whenever you want. You would need to activate it before the assault phase since it's ability is used in the "next assault phase". So if you want it activate in movement or shooting phase. (Really, I think you just need to activate it before you start rolling dice.)

thats basically how i play. as soon as the shooting phase is finished i say what standards if any i am using and then start the assault phase. it doesn't state yours or the enemies turn, merely that it will work in the next assault phase so i would say it can be activated in eithe rplayers turn.

if your opponent queries show him the page, if he doesn't agree dice off for it.
