Doubles Army List

Hi there. My friend and i are entering a Doubles Tournament with the exact same rules as the official GW one. We are entering a Space Wolf army and i wanted to run by you guys my 500-points for the tournament:

 

Wolf Guard Battle Leader

Frost blade

Wolf-tooth necklace

 

Wolf-tooth necklace means he can take on any beastie in combat, while who wouldn't want a frost blade? He will join the blood claws to negate their Headstrong rule

 

10 Blood Claws

Power weapon

 

Power weapon for added kick. Will charge forwards and take the fight to the enemy. Joined by Battle Leader.

 

10 Grey Hunters

Plasma Gun

Flamer

Wolf Standard

 

The two weapons are free, so why not? though i don't know about the flamer? Will hold any objectives in my table half. Wolf standard for if they desperatley need to hold in an assault.

 

Lone Wolf

Wolf Claw x2

Fenrisian Wolf

 

basically to soak up points and to have fun! just plan to use him as a distraction, round a flank, nibbling on tasty mortals! lol

 

 

My ally is taking a HQ and some bloodclaws then adding a little something special. Not sure what!

 

What do you think to this list?

 

C&C welcome. i haven't started making it yet, so if you get in quick, i won't have wasted any models!

from personal experience the ultimate 2 armies too combine is a spacewolves force and a eldar starcannon force.

 

but this is the list i would run for your half.

 

rune priest with jotww and storm caller. 100

 

lone wolf with mark of the wulfen 35

 

lone wolf with mark of the wulfen 35

 

10 grey hunters with a flamer, a plasma gun and mark of the wulfen 165

 

10 grey hunters with a flamer, a plasma gun and mark of the wulfen 165

 

total 500

 

you have 6 units capable of hurting armour 13

a force weapon

20 rock solid troops

a dangerous psycher

and 2 crazy dudes who will have glorious deaths

 

your ally if taking wolves should take the heavy stuff

 

with

 

rune priest 100

 

dreadnaught, multi-melta, drop pod 140 OR 4 swift claws with mm attack bike

 

5gh with mg 80

5gh with flamer 75

5 long fangs 2 ml, 2 hb

 

so one provides meat and combat prowess, the other has antitank range and the ability to get a unit in combat early with the dread droping and popping and then smashing or the bikes doing the same with the turbo boost.

the way ythat the doubles armies are put together for the doubles in january works thusly;

 

each player gets a 750 force. Each must have 1 HQ and 1-6 troops choices

The combined army may then have 1 Elites, 1 Fast Attack and 1 Heavy Support choice. Once between the two forces these three slots have been filled then another of each may be taken and so on.

 

So if I'm playing wolves and my collegue is taking guard and he wanted a hq, a troops and three collossus bombards as individual heavy support choices I'd have to take two elites, two fast attack a hq and at least 1 troops so that our army was legal.
