Editing Great Company Decals

Ok,

I am toying with the idea of Harald Deathwolf's great company as the new fluff fits in with my tastes and I want my wolves a little more unique.

However I have zero knowledge of custom decals. I have the file from B & C for Harald's Great Company, and I have clear transfer paper, so I have the materials.

However the sun the deathwolf is consuming will show up clear on my shoulder pad using this design and will not really stand out on the dark red background. Is there a way to edit the interior of the sun and its rays to match the yellow in the codex?

I'm sure this is probably really simple, but as said I have very limited photo editing skills and haven't work much with transfers in the past as I usually used the older metal raised shoulder pads.

See the bit i said about printer.

If you have a kinkos near bye, ask them if they have a printer that prints white, if so bring in your paper and your design and have them print it out for you....first with a white base, then again with the color...you/they will need to make 2 separate images. one solid white, then the coloured one to go over it.

Please excuse me for not getting this and sounding really stupid, but why can't I just edit the image in a program like paint to fill in the rays of the sun with yellow and then print that image on my ink jet? This would give me a clear decal, a yellow star and a black wolf. The template in the download section is perfect except I didn't want a clear, black-outlined sun.

Please go over why I would need to superimpose the image from the downloads section over a white version. I'm really not understanding and I apologize in advance for not being able to follow.

I'm also curious as to why every time I try to edit the decal download the color just fills in a dark grey.
