Custodian Athiair
Hi i was looking through the new psychic powers, and they are all amazing i don't know which ones to choose the main ones i am attracted to are: Murderous Hurricane (great at slowing down enemies and causing damage at the same time) Living Lightning (highly power full, if you're lucky) Jaws of the World Wolf (most powerful but equally hard to execute) i'm not a big fan of Thunderclap (the name itself doens't sound great) and Strength 3 Ap5 isn't going to do much tempests wrath is nasty, vs. eldar and deamons and sometimes Tau (but is limited in effectivness) Storm Caller is great if you need that important bit of cover but is a bit of short range Fury of the Wolf Spirits is alright but again is a bit weak, but then again anything that can make termies run isn't that bad thanks for your opinions (in advance) Athiair <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181343-psychic-powers/ Share on other sites
ChapniK
well it all depends on the composition of your army and what role you want to achieve with the Rune priest and also if he has the rune lord upgrade. If you want a offensive setup Murderous Hurricane and Living Lightning are your best bet. Lightning for popping open transport so your troop can get to the crunchy screaming center. Hurricane, is great to counter squad that want to run away or want to assault you, that means that minimum they will have to take 2 difficult terrain test for that turn (move, assault), 3 if they run and i believe 4 if they run away after losing or they run after is you lose. For a defensive setup, Storm caller and tempest wrath is a really good combo. Storm caller who doe snot like getting out of a drop pod to have a 5+ cover save, plus if you concentrate your force you could have 2-3 squad covered by the storm and fenrisian wolves with mobile cover save <_<. Tempest is not only good against eldar, tau or deamon, petty much every army has deep strike and jump infantry. This helps to stop the flow of reinforcement coming to counter you. If you want an all around setup try, Tempest wrath and living lightning for mech armies or hurricane for infantry heavy forces Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181343-psychic-powers/#findComment-2146830 Share on other sites
Toasterfree
jaws is going to be the weakest of all powers you are going to find out. it has highly limited success against marines, so your main targets are going to the crons/death guard/tau/orks. anything else is going to be to fast. you can use it against IG assuming it isnt mech. murderous is great for defensive and offensive power, it packs both in one punch. lightning so far has been my all star in the games that I have played with it. all others are going to be a come as you are kind of thing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181343-psychic-powers/#findComment-2146848 Share on other sites
Custodian Athiair
ok thanks for the comments guys, Toasterfree you make a very obvious point about the Jaws of the World Wolf. it can be dangerous but in very small circumstances. ok thanks i think i'm going to go with Murderous Hurricane (as it seems the most effective) and then probably Living Lightning as he can take on lots of things (or sometimes Storm Caller if the enemy has a lot of weaponary that could hurt my marines) thanks a lot guys Athiair :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181343-psychic-powers/#findComment-2148483 Share on other sites
