tahrikmili
Finally finished this fun side project. I actually did this to learn how to paint blue (I hope to paint a Blood Angels Librarian one day) but ended up enjoying it immensely. So here's an Ultramarine painted in the oldschool color scheme: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181351-finished-ultramarine-tactical/ Share on other sites
StubbyGB
Very nice and clean. What colours did you use for the blue ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181351-finished-ultramarine-tactical/#findComment-2146967 Share on other sites
tahrikmili
Very nice and clean. What colours did you use for the blue ? Thank you. I used FolkArt Artist's Pigment line Brilliant Ultramarine for the Blue. Highlights are Brilliant Blue mixed with GW Skull White (Mostly 2:1, though for some subtler highlights I used something around 3:1). For shading I just blacklined with Black Ink. Tyrannicide
Awesome hark back to the glory of the past. I would've preferred to see the golden yellow rims of the more recognizable 2nd Company, but very nice nevertheless. Though do you have any plans on adding squad markings and the Chapter symbol? tahrikmili
I was going to do Yellow 2nd Company trims as well, but thought I would add a third color to the model. I think it looks nice this way, without being too busy. Black and Green trims look very nice on Ultramarines as well, I'd say. I will, eventually. But I'm not really crazy about using transfers (most people seem to be using solvents to deal with issues concerning these, which I lack) so I'll just freehand them sometime :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181351-finished-ultramarine-tactical/#findComment-2147812 Share on other sites
