stinkenheim
i have yet to play any games with kill points in them (i play cities of death almost entirely) but if the unit survives the game you dont gain any bonuses do you? i only ask because if you don't, nd all your wolf guard are assigned to other squads then there is no kill point from the wolf guard unit as it isn't there, and it doesnt have any effect in game because neither you nor your opponent gain anyhting from its existance or lack of Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181500-wg-and-gh/page/2/#findComment-2150561 Share on other sites
muzzyman1981
As far as I know they would only get KP from a Wolf Guard unit that actually acts as a unit, since once a WG joins a pack it is part of that pack for all purposes. stinkenheim
lol, obviously i didnt mean to imply that it would have no place on the FOC. i was merely asking about kill points, and if the unit doesn't exist at deployment then neither side get anything from it do they? seing as the enemy didnt destroy the unit they couldn't claim a kill point and becuase the wolf guard are now considered parts of the units they are leading then there is effectively no Wolf Guard unit to give up a kill point. is that right (and does it even make sense... im tired) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181500-wg-and-gh/page/2/#findComment-2150659 Share on other sites
Wolfe
Don't have my rule book to hand, can somebody just check for me whether or not deployment counts as part of the battle please. A quote would be good and yes I know the question about GH and specials has been asked and answered over and over but just indulge me. A quote would be good. Hfran Morkai
Allow me to put the last nail in the coffin. In "The saga of Sven Ironfist" the 2000 point army in October WD there is a 9 man Hunter Pack with attached Wolf Guard and only one special weapon in the squad, so he didn't take a free special weapon and I think the chances of him wanting to keep another bolter in the pack are very slim, it seems a flamer themed pack with the GH and WG so why not throw in another flamer or a meltagun for versatility?
