Rogue Angel Veteran
This is some of my army. DIY Chapter "The Rogue Angels" The green is always ment to be solid i prefer the darkness and it makes the bone + 2x Gryphonne Sepia wash stand out more as the main colour. And on the terminators helm it makes it look dark i love it. Hope you like it tactical squad http://i38.tinypic.com/2d0xoug.jpg Scout http://i34.tinypic.com/b545xy.jpg Servitors http://i38.tinypic.com/21o2bmx.jpg Terminator http://i37.tinypic.com/15we7hz.jpg Terminator Sergeant with power sword - fire skin http://i33.tinypic.com/28vt2eo.jpg Terminator Sergeant with twin lighting claws http://i37.tinypic.com/2dviy6r.jpg Space Hulk terminator librarian http://i35.tinypic.com/fxgfo8.jpg Vanguard veteran http://i35.tinypic.com/j66ft0.jpg Drop Pod http://i36.tinypic.com/wbtpur.jpg Razorback http://i34.tinypic.com/2it3hqs.jpg Predator http://i34.tinypic.com/esnq6g.jpg Land Raider http://i36.tinypic.com/dbe60.jpg Venerable dreadnought http://i35.tinypic.com/2zxpm35.jpg And then ofcourse theres the random webfiger http://i37.tinypic.com/2znnz7o.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/ Share on other sites
Dejay
I like the colour scheme, but i think the black needs highlighting. Nice work ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2150527 Share on other sites

Hubernator
I have a gripe, and it's an iffy one really. On your vehicles the wash has formed darker and lighter patches, and it's bothering me ever so slightly. The scheme itself is new and pretty good ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2150554 Share on other sites
Rogue Angel Veteran
ya on the vehicles it does cos its on a big area it kinda bothers me as well might give it another wash with a tank brush a quick once over to see what thats like but not sure yet. might leave it so i can see what it looked like and what my new ones will be like kinda like a comparasion or somthing lol. ty Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2150575 Share on other sites
Avarris
I like the colour scheme. I can understand Huernator's point with the wash looking odd where its pooled on the armour but I like it as it gives the armour plates a marble like look which catches the eye Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2150648 Share on other sites

OwenCrute
That is a LOT of wash. Might I suggest some highlighting of the bone, just at the edges, to help define them? Otherwise, quite pleasing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2150927 Share on other sites
Commander Sha'son
I would give the bone plates a fine line hilight of bleached bone to finish them off. I dig the color scheme. Cypher 102
I've found that when using washes over medium to large flat areas the type of effect you achieve depends a lot on your brush stroke. If you use long smooth strokes in straight lines across the flat surface you will get a smoother effect. If you go apply it with faster less focused strokes you'll get a blotchier effect kind of like what you have. I'm not saying either method is right or wrong and they each have their uses. Just something for you to consider. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2155302 Share on other sites
sword brethren
i love the colour scheme and a little highlighting would really complete the contrast between the colours. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181681-my-army-so-far/#findComment-2155367 Share on other sites

blackbabyjesus
The one piece of advice I dole out over and over again is this: Thin your paints! Straight from the pot paints will obscure detail and look lumpy on what should be flat surfaces (the top part of the drop pod is a perfect example of this), your painting is neat and your colour scheme is great, with a little more patience and 2 thin coats instead of one thick one your models would look 100x better!
