Xeonic
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/6307/dreadpc.jpg Body is a Plasma Cannon from the devestator sprue. The dread arm is a TLlascannon arm from the plastic dreadnought kit. http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/3594/dreadpcfront.jpg The top "power cell" bit relocated to the side, the eagle is from the IG aquila sprue. http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/5070/dreadpcinside.jpg Cut away the fore hand and covered the ugly gap with a bit of trimmed down sprue. Covered the rear handgrip gap with a leftover bolter foregrip and another small bit of sprue. http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/4868/dreadpcside.jpg The "optics" rail is made of another piece of sprue, it's purpose is to cover up nasty mouldlines on the power coils, and make the plasma cannon more bulky. How's it look, convincing enough for TT? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181810-conversion-dread-plasma-cannon/ Share on other sites
cathar the great
Looks really good. I would build it a bit shorter and probably leave off the optics rail, but still very neat and clean. I'm about to build me a Bjorn Wolfclaw counts-as, so I'm looking for a nice PlasmaCannon-conversion. Mind if I steal a little of your idea? Xeonic
Of course I wouldn't mind, would be honored. The reason I left it long was that I wanted the cables to go into one of the existing cable mounts(I removed the little loopy conduited one, but still need to GS a joint there). Ironjens
Looks nice, but you might want to add a thin strip of plasticard or a couple of rivets on the top of the 'optics rail' just to break the flatness which screams out "SPRUE!" Good job Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181810-conversion-dread-plasma-cannon/#findComment-2152291 Share on other sites
Xeonic
Of course you're right, hadn't thought about it but a thin strip of plasticard is a good idea... The eagle was an attempt to spruce it up a bit, but I like both ideas, I'll play with it tonight/tomorrow before work and photo what I come up with if I have the time. Drudge Dreadnought
I like the optics rail. Normally when people do this conversion it ends up looking way too dinky to be on a dread. The optics rail fixes that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181810-conversion-dread-plasma-cannon/#findComment-2152654 Share on other sites
Xeonic
http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/3262/deadpccomp1.jpg More or less finished, needs a few touchups and a nice wash. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/1393/dreadpc02.jpg Yes, that's an old metal dread it's on(also very wip for my motf list). :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181810-conversion-dread-plasma-cannon/#findComment-2154683 Share on other sites
