Erik Morkai

I've been considering doing a model for Wolf Lord Erik Morkai, and I've been thinking about what his armour/wargear might be.

 

Under his personal entry we're told he values the companionship of Wolf Scouts. Indeed, his personality and demeanor seem very similar to theirs. Since Wolf Scouts are selected because of their temperament it seems likely (to me a least) that he was himself a Wolf Scout at one point.

 

This is reinforced by the codex stating that Logan will select Erik when there is need for stealth and surprise, although this could just be because he is not likely to lose control and simply charge the enemy.

 

In the Wolf Lord entry we're told how Lords perform solo missions. I'm imagining Erik as some kind of covert op.

Now, our Wolf Scouts had access to power armour but instead wear carapace, presumably because it conferred some material benefit. (I imagine noise reduction) As such, my thinking is that Erik probably has a set of (extremely good/durable) carapace armour somewhere for when the need arises.

 

Thats what I'm leaning towards modelling him in. Obviously he'd have regular PA/RA stats in-game but that would merely reflect the artificer nature of the suit.

 

What does the fang think of this?

And if it's a good idea, what weapons would he use?

I'm leaning towards sword and combi-melta (for OBEL/outflanking tank popping, even though WL can't have saga of the hunter. bah) or the "classic scout" sword and bolt pistol combo.

i'd go frost sword and bolt pistol (add a silencer to it like the scouts) and put him in runic armour. as its made better you could easily claim the servos are quiter, it is lighter and functions much more effectively thus reducing noise. also his brother is a rune priest so its more than likely he would have crafted a suit for him upon his promotion to wolf lord.

I agree with Stinken about the Runic Armor. As for weapon I would think Frost Blade and Combi-weapon.
