Jarl Bloodwolf
ok so each wolf lord can take a name for himself and his company upon his election most use the name of a wolf from fenrisian mythology so what about this as a tid bit of fenrisian mythos and is kinda like the grim reaper. the bloodwolf is a servant of morkai. he hunts the battle feilds and warzones always present and always watching. as a warrior dies the blood wolf tears into his body (this is represented by however the warrior dies so its that every form of death is the blood wolfs fangs) and ripps out his soul. he then takes it to the gates of morkai where the warriors deeds will be judged. the pelt of the blood wolf (unsurprisingly) is matted with blood and gore from the millions who have died in battle. i like to think that a particularly savage and bloodthirsty wolf lord would take this name its also apt in that if the wolf lord is a true warrior then he acts as the blood wolfs fangs (he's a force of death) well thats it. advice and more info welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181996-the-blood-wolf/ Share on other sites
muzzyman1981
Well to me that sounds too much like an avatar of Khorne, but that is my personal opinion. Otherwise very well thought out. crescent fang
love the concept, morkai's angel (or wolf) of death. absolutely brilliant. and dear i ask about the unworthy? i would think the blood wolf devours the fools without a second thought while offering the brave warrior to morkai. but then you have to think about the edge of the coin, that overlooked third option, what if you aren't said cowered OR hero? just a thought. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181996-the-blood-wolf/#findComment-2154107 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Cool, never really heard the Bloodwolfs story filled in like that, and I think you did a bangup job on it. El Scotcho
So would this mean that your Wolf Lord with this name was once in Erik Morkai's Great Company? Very good idea though, kind of like the greek boatman of the river Styx. Very good idea though, kind of like the greek boatman of the river Styx. no my wolf lord would not have been from Erik Morkai's company. that’s adhering a little to much to the mythology. its just like how the black mane wolves are also a servant of Morkai but Ragnar Blackmane has never been apart of Erik Morkai's company. Iron Man I
ok so each wolf lord can take a name for himself and his company upon his election most use the name of a wolf from fenrisian mythology so what about this as a tid bit of fenrisian mythos and is kinda like the grim reaper. the bloodwolf is a servant of morkai. he hunts the battle feilds and warzones always present and always watching. as a warrior dies the blood wolf tears into his body (this is represented by however the warrior dies so its that every form of death is the blood wolfs fangs) and ripps out his soul. he then takes it to the gates of morkai where the warriors deeds will be judged. the pelt of the blood wolf (unsurprisingly) is matted with blood and gore from the millions who have died in battle. i like to think that a particularly savage and bloodthirsty wolf lord would take this name its also apt in that if the wolf lord is a true warrior then he acts as the blood wolfs fangs (he's a force of death) well thats it. advice and more info welcome I like it. It turns the Bloodwolf into a neutral power. It is niether good, nor evil. It just is. Other way to you can spin it is its drawn to the impending, or possibly impending death of a warrior, so that in the mists of battle he (the Warrior) sees the shadow of the Bloodwolf flash out of the corner of his eye, or hears its howl or what ever. Of course you can work it into stories and backrounds for wolf lords who thou gravely wounded in battle and near death, survived could say that "They felt the breath of the Bloodwolf on thier neck." Jarl Bloodwolf
exactly. in my original concept i had the idea that when the Blood Wolf howls those who are able to hear it are close to death and know that they must prove themselves so will fight all the harder (my wolf lord is a berserker so he fights that way all the time). i almost want it to have kind of like a final destination fealing to it, not the premionition part but in the movie you can see death as a entity. thats what i want it to be like for my Blood Wolf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181996-the-blood-wolf/#findComment-2158243 Share on other sites
Warhorse47
I like your direction on this. I can see an old Rune Priest kicking back in the Fang, and telling of those who have heard the howl and felt his breath, but denying him and then winning a great victory over impossible odds. Jarl Bloodwolf
Well to me that sounds too much like an avatar of Khorne, but that is my personal opinion. Otherwise very well thought out. I decided to bring this post back because I am still curious as to how the Bloodwolf (my namesake) is like the Avatar of Khorne (Khane?) so if anyone could explain what he ment or better yet muzzyman1981 if your out there could you answer it? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181996-the-blood-wolf/#findComment-2450011 Share on other sites

Schertenleib
Just a thought.... Have you modeled up a wolf to use as your Rune Priest's Chooser of the slain. That way you have the Blood Wolf watching your battles. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/181996-the-blood-wolf/#findComment-2450328 Share on other sites
