Memorable moments wih your Space Wolves

Well today I had a very funny game in which my Space Wolves fought a friends Imperial Fists. After the game I had several interesting moments and I wanted to see if anybody had any they wanted to share.

2 Very Memorable moments occured during the slug fest that was fists vs wolves, aside from my wolf lord dying to a squad of 10 Hammernators (yes I know my friend is impractical but it is fun) only to be avenged by a very disgruntled wolf guard, last man standing in his squad, dispatched all 10 one after the other.

But by far the best moment had to be when Captain Lysander and his Hammernator unit charged at a squad of Wolf Guard Terminators. Now my friend is a very loud type and yelled at the top of his lungs "PREPARE TO GET FISTED!" as the boys hit home. Unfortunatly for him, 3 of 5 hammernators died to Wolf Claws and then as Lysander and the 2 remaining Hammernators hit back, they were confronted by a hammer to the face with me yelling "PREPARE TO GET ROCKFISTED!!!!" Obvious who was responsible there.

Oh well I've had some pretty funny moments with my new wolves already....but some of them will most likely stick in my mind forever..

I really enjoyed the fight between my wolflord and straken where I was like "I'm gonna slaughter the living <_< out of you...." and had a bright smirk on my face as my wolflord hit all 7 of his attacks (after rerolling..) and wound with all 7 of them....and I was like "Hrhr Goodbye Mr Adamant! No way in hell is he gonna survive that...you'll need like 5 5+ saves to save his ars.." He nodded sadly...and rolled 3 5s, 2 sixes, 3 and 4......I think my jaw was somewhere on the floor right then and there O.o...

Obviously he lost in the next round, but still, epic fail O.o Damn hard Mr Adamant!

But the funniest thing I'll never forget until now was my unit of 10 fenrisian wolves slaughtering a 6 man deathwing terminator unit (worth something around 300+ points?) + a terminator librarian...with only loosing 4 of their own...the face of the DA player was priceless and ever since then my fenrisian wolves where known as the "Deathwolves" in my local store *g* Gotta love those little fellas...

My Vendreads name is Venerable Brother Hralthnar Darkwomb, and he truely is a spear of russ.

He also died in his very first 5th edition battle ever, shortly after being built in a shiny new plastic kit and painted to my table top standards.

He was snipered, by an eldar pathfinder.

Impossible you say? Not at all.

Sniper rolls to hit... gets a 5. AP 1! And then rolls to penetrate... and gets a 6, wich rends, upon wich he rolls a d3 and rolls another 5... for a total of 12. He then rolls to find damage on the glancing hit chart and gets a 6... wich -1 *remember +1 from AP1* gets him destroyed.

First turn, I hadnt even moved.

I suppose you have to be killed before you can be intered, so it made sense... but it still was "wow, well... <_<."

Well I recently had a lone iron priest get assaulted by a squad of 13(?) eldar jet bikes including an autarch. He then proceeded to kill one of them, an survive the return attacks, win combat AND the initiative check to chase them all down :D

I had to give him a purity seal for that feat, I'm still trying to find something to put a barrel of ale on his base too!

The most memorable moment for me was playing against a Tau buddy of mine. He needed one KP to tie the game up and unloaded everyone of his railguns into Venerable Brother Gjorn the Everlasting. To back up a moment, 1st turn he was immobilized in a piece of 4+ terrain then had his AC blow off, 2nd turn had his power claw removed, so he spent the rest of the game yelling at the top of his lungs at the Tau. Back to point, after unloading all his railguns, Tau buddy simply sais "I give up." and conceeded the game at the end of turn five. After the game we figured it up The Tau unloaded 30+ Railgun (S10) shots into him and he was still alive, hence the name "The Everlasting".
One of my most memorable moments was when I was playing with one of my friends (me SW, him IG) against a deamon army. After various stuff happened, I deployed a unit of grey hunters on the flank to prevent a demon prince tearing through his gun line. After 2 turns of combat i'd dealt 2 wounds to the thing, taken 6 casualties in return, and my valiant selfless grey hunters were about to falter when my friend threw a unit of brave guardsmen in. The demon prince cuts my unit down to a man, the guardsmen then strike... cause 2 wounds, the demon prince rolls snake eyes and a unit of guardsmen stab a demon prince to death with their bayonets while my last grey hunter joins the ranks of the lone wolves.

Wolve and Marines vs Eldar/D. Eldar/Chaos

The Eldar won in the end, and my wolves were essentially out of it after turn 3. But on the first and second turns of the game my wolves eliminated the D. Eldar. This was through a rather miraculous series of deep strike mishaps on both our parts, in which both our armies arrive within just enough inches to blast eachother to pulpy bits in the shooting phases. Then in the assault phases our units which had deployed on the table assaulted in and ripped eachother into pieces. At the end of turn 2 only Bjorn the Fellhanded, a WG in TDA and a single Long Fang remained. The game went on for a full 7 turns so...yeah. It was brutal.

I must commend Bjorn for sheer killing rages. Early in the battle he waded out into the fray and killed the D. Eldar Hq and his pointy boat. He was assaulted by a unit of skimmers and swatted all three without taking a scratch. On turn 2 he shot a unit of Wyches to Hell, before running into there confused lines and stomping them down like rats. Which lead to him taking heavy fire from all three enemies. Every shot hit his ancient hide but not a single one managed to penetrate. The Eldar hit him with a Brightlance/Prism Cannon/Starcannon, the Chaos forces hit him with Plasma Cannon/Autocannon/Lascannon/Krak/Terminators, and D. Eldar (foolishly mind you) assaulted in assured that Bjorn would nail the TDA unit. But alas, they were wrong and Bjorn finished what he had started by wiping them out to the last. In turn three Bjorn finished the TDAs but was left badly damaged and immobilised in enemy territory. His wolf borthers had been killed down to the last themselves but Bjorn still stood howling his rage.

After that amazing display the enemies of the Imperium showed great respect for Bjorn and left his territory. He remained there for the rest of the battle, the Lone Wolf firing indiscriminately into the enemies whenever possible. He claimed no more kills this day, but his saga continues; for Russ, for the Wolftime.
