Sorcerer question

Recommended Posts

Hey all, quick question, I noticed that terminator armor gives a 5+ invulnerable save, but the sorcerer already has that, I was wondering if the terminator armor would give it a better save like a 4+ at that point?

Sorcerer in power or terminator armour = 5+Inv.

Sorcerer in power or terminator armour with Mark of Tzeentch = 4+Inv.

It doesn't stack. The terminator armor grants a 5+ invulnerable save, not a +1 save. It could be argued that you would have 2 5+ inv saves, but since you can only ever take 1 save its not any use.

It does stack somewhat, Drudge.

Quoted from Page 25 of C:CSM :

Mark Of Tzeentch

Models with the mark of Tzeentch gain +1 to their invulnerable save (to a maximum of 2+). If given to a model that does not normally have an invulnerable save, this mark confers an invulnerable save of 5+.

Because Termie armor already has an invulnerable save of 5+, with MoT, it now becomes a 4+ invul, instead of a 5+.

However, you are correct that it does not stack with the sorcerer's normal 5+ invul, because the termie armor "essentially" replaces that invul.

The best you can do with termie armor/MoT is a 4+ invul.

Once again, thanks for the input... guess I'll just have to be happy w/ 4+ saves :)

Emm, do you realise that a psyker with a 4++ save is very powerful and you wouldn't get it as easily in any other army ?

You should be a bit more greatful.

Other armies have more and better powers for cheaper, and psychic hoods. Some even autocast their powers. And 4+ inv is what every captain gets now :/

Like the Libby with Strom Shield for way fewer points with more useful powers and a hood? +1 to drudge.
