My Wolf Lord Conversion

Tonight i had a crazy idea for my wolf lord. Being someone who loves themes and playing to a story i had to make Geralt as much on the table as he is in the story.

Due to this i've given him fairly stock standard, Terminator Armour, Belt of Russ, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman & saga of the bear.

Now to fit with this i figured he definitely had to have a Thunder Hammer, which i was happy to do, but i didn't want to give him a Storm Shield, and leaving him with a Storm Bolter just seemed lacking inspiration. SO after long deliberation i decided on something that would fit his character, be a legal wargear combo and maximize his death dealing. So with out further a du, i give you Dual Thunder Hammers.

 

The only hurdle is, all Thunder Hammers in the new box set are left handed, so i'll have to do some chopping.

 

The reason why i post this is i'd like some feedback, maybe someone has done this before and has a conversion i could take some inspiration from, or maybe they've tried this and don't like it... either way i figured it needed to be thrown out there.

 

I'm also going to undersling some flamers/storm bolters purely for aesthetics and also because i will be playing Apocalyspe sometime soon, and they can be used as a heavy flamer in apocalypse rules

I'm going to try the same thing. Except, My Wolf Lord is only in Power Armor. He has duel Thunder Hammers, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Belt of Russ, and Saga of Warrior Born to optimize his killing power.

 

I was thinking of doing a theme with this Wolf Lord in the army and making all Wolf Guard that are accompanying the Grey Hunter Packs have Thunder Hammers and Combi-Meltas.

 

If I could find a nice hammer model, I'd also give hammers to the Grey Hunters and Blood Claws, just to be used as a CCW.

My Lord in power armour has a Grey Knight halbard with the pointy bit chopped off to count as a frost spear (forged from a giant Krakens fang and coated in molten crystal mined from the depths of Asahiem) and a Storm shield, the big one from the Assault Termie box. In the one game that he's played, he has so far dissapointed me (made one wound on a SM captain, only for the captian to be killed by my wolf guard with bolt pistol-frost blade power armour who had ran on with my scouts.) he would have done better if he had grunts to kill to fuel Warrior born. *sigh*...

 

When he dons his terminator armour (mixed the new Wolf Guard Termies with a plastic chaos lord termie for the awesomness) he has the Chaos lords lightning claws (Wolf Claws made in the same fasion as above - I wanted them to stand out from regular claws) and the big wolf pelt. He beat my friends Warboss and 30 man boy mob along with Ragnar, Logan and 2 Grey Knight Brother Captains (Logan and Ragnar make an awesome tag team - re-rolling hits and furious charge plus D3 attacks on the charge instead of +1 AND once per game +1 attack.) he then proceeded to sent Gazgull (or however you say it) and nobs at them. Darn 2+ inv. Knocked out Audun (my Lord) Ragnar, a BC, took out 2 wounds from logan before getting soundly thrashed by the Old Wolf next turn ("no more 2+ for you!!!" *splack*) that was a great game. at the end the enemy Guard Baneswordhammershadow went apocalyptic (thank you Land speeders!!!)
