UltraRich
I picked these up on ebay last week for £1.50 as I thought it was worth a gamble that they were ok http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/bikes.jpg When I got them I think the guy that had them before was into dipping as they were covered in thick paint. After a week in Flash Kitchen degreaser they came out like this after a bit of cleaning with a toothbrush http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/Picture060.jpg One of the handlebars was melted away due to the amount of plastic glue that was on it so I thought Id chop it away and start again. I then got to thinking that all marine bikes are static and point straight forward so Id have a go at making this one look like it has some movement and is cornering. Using plasticard, rod and a few spare scout bike bits I got this. C&C welcomed as this is still WIP and not fastened together yet http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/Picture061.jpg With Scout faring http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/Picture062.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/Picture065.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182170-reclaimed-marine-bikes-with-scout-bike-bits/ Share on other sites

UltraRich
very kool! you got better results with a 1.50 mess than i get with bikes fresh from the press! what you thinking of painting it like? If I say it'll be blue will that put people off reading the thread ^_^ I want it to fit in with my army but I want it to stand on its own as a unit between the scout bikes and the standard marine bikes. Ive kitted it out with crates and ammo on the back so Im not sure weather to paint it standard ultra blue of go darker with the bike. Again, suggestions are welcomed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182170-reclaimed-marine-bikes-with-scout-bike-bits/#findComment-2155684 Share on other sites
sword brethren
if you give it a darker blue and a more worn personalised look it will look like they have been at the job longer than the scouts. ill let other people post now, i feel im hogging your time ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182170-reclaimed-marine-bikes-with-scout-bike-bits/#findComment-2155690 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Looking great! You could go for a blue and 'x' check pattern, that would make them look like veterans... Thats a great idea Before I get flamed for not doing any searches I cant find any images of bikes painted like this. Have you got a link I can look at? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182170-reclaimed-marine-bikes-with-scout-bike-bits/#findComment-2155725 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Hmmmm no I couldn't find one either!! Which would make it even more original! It would be a good idea to take a look at some Brettonian knights and envisage that on your bike :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182170-reclaimed-marine-bikes-with-scout-bike-bits/#findComment-2155734 Share on other sites
