Iron Priests and Lone Wolfs

So I finally broke down and bought the new SW dex. Bearing in mind that I haven't played a game since the Ork dex was brand new (i.e. since 4th edition), what does everyone think of the Iron Priest and the Lone Wolf with retinue? My understanding is that while squads are limited in which transports they can purchase by their entry, you can always jump in another squad's transport. Does this make purchasing a transport for a squad of Long Fangs to carry these otherwise ride-less characters a good idea? I they worth giving up slots for stuff like Wolf Guard, Wolf Scouts, and Dreads? I.e. a Lone Wolf with two wolves in his retinue in a razorback (assuming frostblade equpped, that's 4 WS5, S5 power attacks and 6 WS4, S5 attacks on the charge for only 65 points), or a Iron Wolf with 3 cyberwolves and 3 servitors in a rhino (12 S4 I4, 6 S6 I1 power, and 4 S8 I1 power attacks on the charge for 125 pts). Those are a lot of high S power attacks for fairly cheap, and using another squads transport gets around the usual problem of being shot up on the walk in.

However, as I aid that's theoryhammer, espeically since I havne't played a game in 5th. Am I way off, just seeing something that looks good on paper and sucks in the field?

Yes, the Lone Wolf and Iron Priest can ride in another unit's transport, they just cannot start the game in one. As to whether it's useful or not, I'm not sure though the current flavour for Lone Wolves is to kit them out in terminator armour, thunder hammer and storm shield and have them just run their way to the enemy.

the Iron priest combo costs needs to take into account the cost of the Rhino as well - which makes it 160pts, for 5pts more he could be kitted out on a Thunderwolf mount (giving extra TH attack and toughness), WTN so he hits on 3+, and 4 cyberwolves - all with a 12" charge range...

... I'm planning on running the above behind two Rhino's and murdering the meanest mofo on the other side - can't see much standing up to 4 TH attacks and a servo arm attack hitting on 3+ - and can't see alot hurting the IP on 2+ save, with the wolves to absorb wounds that ignore armour saves.

otherwise he's got to disembark and will get shot to hell before he can charge in - hell I know that i would shoot that unit to hell.
