Iron-Daemon Forge
Insane Psychopath Throne of Skulls UKGT heat 1 battle report Remember this day, men, for it will be yours for all time. Hi everone Well another year & another tournament report. After take part in ELG Counter attack tournament in Sept, I have recently attended the Games Workshop own Throne of Skulls other wise know as the GT. Now as per usely I have a simple request!!! Do NOT post anything negative about the list I or other have use, I don't care as for me as long as it by the rule/codex I will battle or use it. Like wise anyone who dose not like the tournament scene then this topic might not be for you. So please don't post negative. We all have our own area of the hobby we enjoy, please respect that. I go to tournament to have a laught, have some games, met new & old friend alike, the main thing is having a laught & fun day that the tournament. These report are to show other that tournament are a good laught & not the bad terrible side of thing as a lot people make them out to be (98% not even attended I'd bet). But I attend these for a laught, to play armies I not fought in agies, to met new people, check out some brilliant armies & also spend the weekend down in Warhammer World which as said is a cool place. Now that done.... ON TO THE REPORT!!!!!!! So first thing is first & that will be the army list. I took a cut down version of the list I use that the ELG tournament (since it was 1750pts & UKGT was 1500pts) so here what I had in my 1500pts HQ: Warsmith Abhorred Riddick (Daemon Prince), Wings - 130 Elites Squad 7: Tormentia, 4x Termies arm with Power Weapon & combi Plasma - 140 Squad 8: Proeliator 4x Termies arm with Power Weapon & Combi Plasma - 140 Troops Squad 1: Iupatus Proeliator 9 Chaos Space Marines, Plasma Gun, Autocannon, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Squad 2: Be Graphicus 9 Chaos Space Marines, Plasma Gun, Autocannon, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Squad 3: Apocalypse 9 Chaos Space Marines, Melta Gun, Autocannon, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 210 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Heavy Support: Squad 5: Excessus Fillius 2 Obliterator - 150 Squad 4: Oburo 1 Obliterator - 75 Squad 6: Hydra Infensus 1 Obliterator - 75 Total - 1500pts. Road Trip: There will be no glory in your sacrifice Well with the UKGT being held in Nottingham HQ of all Games Workshop (Warhammer World). Me & my friends had a fair bit of travling to do since we live in Scotland, wake up that the nice earily time of 7am to get ready & then to met my friends for 9am where we would be on the road down to Nottingham for a weekend of gaming, meeting new & old friends & in general slaughter any protester who cause any problem. Yes there was a lot of protester down in Nottingham for the weekend as well.... somthing to do with a power planet..... though they do serve a use, we do need Blood for the Blood god to bring glory & the Chaos Gods favour for the weekend to come... but then again I belive there a thing call the law which it would look down on us for any blood scrafice of these hippies. Anyway here is my account on the tournament, trying to rememeber all that had happen. So a lot detail maybe mix up, but trying my best. Pre Game: The enemy outnumber us a paltry thirteen to one! Good odds for any Iron Warrior Army: Imperial Guards List: Command, 25 Platoon with Heavy Bolter in each squad, 35 Platoon with Lascannon in each squad & meltas? (sure my friend will keep me right by e-mail after reading this report), 10 Veteran with Harker & three Plasma Guns in transport, 2 Plasma Cannon Sentinals as single units, 2 Leman Russ of the Battle Tank type I belive with some Plasma Cannon side weapons. Mission: Kill points, Pitch battle So after a good five hour drive from Scotland to Nottingham. Me & my friend drop into Warhammer World before going to the hotel's, to have a look about as Warhammer World is a very nice place & is a highly recommended place for any true Games Workshop hobbiest The game started with me going first & setting up first. So I did my usely off Deep Striken Terminators & having the rest of my army set up ready to attack the flank & also to take advantage of the little cover we had. Before the game started he mange to steel the first turn which resulted in lot of heavy fire from his Leman Russ & sentinal as well as his Master of the Ord in the command squad. So left & right & even the center there was a loud sound of shell being drop, soon after the smoke settle it seem I only loss one Rhino, prise to the Chaos Gods!!! Then through out the game, it saw my army trying to get as close as possible to I could take the Guard on in close combat. While the unit from the Destroyed Rhino counter Harker & his unit arrive on by flanking (he has Infiltrate (sp) rule) along with a unit of Terminators. While this was going on & Leman Russ tanks bombard me. One Rhino unit luck got close to the Guard line & assaulted.... after taken a few loss of course by my friend turn it result in a might combi assault of the two Platoons of the 25 & the 35 models & add into this his Command squad. So that was a might grand total of 65 Imperial Guard attacking what was left of that one Rhino unit being five Chaos Space Marines. By right the Guards did have weight of number & attack, however in the end they only mange to kill two Iron Warriors. While my own Iron Warriors made a might slaughter to please Khorne. It resulted in what was left of these two platoon & command squad running away near the table edge. I felt really guilt about this turn of luck that the chaos gods had sent me as through out the game the mission was a tie for Kill points. In the remining turns, with those remain three Chaos Marines with in 6 inch off all apart from the command unit (true Guards) ran of the table. That was the two platoon. With the command squad still left I though I would show them some honour by sending in the three remain chaos marine to slaughter the unit in combat. While else where my Terminators had a hard time being attack by a Sentinial (armour 12 I could not do anything), while the rest of my units advance to take down any remain tanks or troops. Could this be a oman of good things to come from the tournament this year?? We'll, you'll find out in the rest of this report :P So after a good game vs my friend. It was time to tide up, having a little look around that the other armies & games people where having, getting ready for the day to come. Also we needed food & then to check into the hotels. So round One to come. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/ Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
So after getting down on the Fri to Nottingham, having a game, food & sleep. Sat came & so the first day of the UKGT heat 1 was offical Round 1: “Immortals... We'll put their name to the test.” Army - Necrons List - Lord with Orb & I think staff of light, 5 Immortals, 5 Destroyed, Monlith, three or four unit of 10/12 Warriors, Scarb swarm, Writh (sp) phase out on 10 Oppent David Mitchell Mission - d3+ 2 object, Pitch battle So after getting up nice & earily as well as sign up for the UKGT. We where draw to random table & I found myself on table 16, having no idea who or what army I would be battle for the first blood of the event. After walking around checking out the other armies & talking to my friend & saw my oppent had arrive & found out it would be David & he would be useing the Necron army. This was his first 40k tournament, but he a veteran of the WFB tournament. Overall I really enjoy this game, it really did feel like a scene from Star wars when the clone & drone battle each other. My main plan vs the Necrons was to make them hit there phase out leval, I was going to complete ignore the Monlith due to 1: one the Necron phase out, that gose with them, 2: it is mainly because I found it harder in 5th Ed to take down armour 14 tank with the cover & the new tank damnge chart. So after the mission was said, we started to roll & I made David go first & set up first. We also had four counter in total for the mission that hand. The first few turn just saw both of our armies advance while give covering fire & then by my turn 2? My Iron Warriors started making there assault slaughtering the Necrons left, right & ceneter, only for a few to repair them self & get back into the fight. When it came to turn five, my three chaos marine units had held the Object, while a unit of Necron Warriors & a lord where running away from my Daemon Prince from a past combat phase & being with in 6 inch. There was a unit of five Destroyed kicking about. Since I had the Object, I though I could spare a unit of chaos marine to go & assault. That & also be boring if they just sat there, I wanted combat & blood for the blood god!!!!, it was a chose I do not regreat as it saw the remain of this ten Chaos Marine unit go into assault & slaughter the Destroyer before my Obliterators who also assaulted had a chance to switch on there power fist. On turn 6, sadly the unit of 10 Necron warriors & Lord where still with in range of my Daemon Prince & ment they went off the board leaving only the Monlith, which resulted in a Phase out as well as 1496 vpts. Overall I really enjoy this game & David was a very good sport, would happily give him a rematch. Also his Necron force is nicely painted as well with the bone effect. Also there is nothing more better than a first good game to start the tournament :P Before I forget, David set up first & me second, I done my usely flank attack. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05808.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05809.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05811.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05813.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05814.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05816.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05818.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05819.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05820.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05821.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05822.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05826.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05827.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05831.jpg So after a hard fought round 1, it was time to set up our armies for the top ten best armies where only six would be pick to get through to the finials & one of them being the best army of the UKGT. Also we had our launch right after round 1, thanks to me we got good burger. Just the food that was planned this year, for me personial I could not eat it with out being unwell. So thank to the head ref of the GT/Irish guy who was take care of all 150+ people though out the UKGT Round 2 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/#findComment-2156453 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
So after having being fed & pack our armies away. It was time for Round 2 Round 2: Last Man Standing Army: Tau List: Commander with bodyguards, unit of Battle suits, Hammer head, other tank fire missile (Sky ray?), 2x 6 Tau Fire warriors, unit of Kroot, 2 Battle suits with Twin Linked Rail Gun. There was also some drone on the battle suits & before I forget there also Pathfinder with devil fish. Oppent: Mike Mission - Home & away object, table quater set up So find myself on the dizzy high of table six.... I also found myself battle TAU!!! For those who have read my reports, they will know I have little to no experince when it come to battle Tau due to...well it not one of the armies collected here (also turn out there where only five Tau armies). So I was a bit worried. With the set up, Mike has his Object that the very conrer of his table side, while I had mine a little closer in-word's to the table behind a hill allow me some sort of cover save in the event of anything. Overall the game saw my Rhinos being blow up everwhere, while I had a remain of a ten man unit pinned in a build (not pin rules, just pinned because of fire power) who did give out fire support though out the game. While the Daemon Prince was trying to get into assault, but sadily only made it against the Pathfinder Devil Fish before being gun down. Other are that I can rememeber was my Terminators deep strike & make more than avrage for there saves, one sude area was when I try deep strike a unit near the Object to deal with the hammer head or the Battle suit with rail guns, it took to kill these four Terminators, unit of Fire warrior, Hammer head, battle suit with rail gun, kroot who had just flank on the wrong side of the table & some battle suit before they all fell to this fire power. While the other Terminator unit while having the same luck vs the fire power, it was more the Close Combat where the chaos gods seem to have left there chosen warriors. Basicly the last Terminator unit try assault a unit Path Finder (if they won could have ran into cover & if alive further, then assault the battle suit near by). However as they say, no plan stay in tack & this was the case when I failed not only my attacks but my armour saves of 2+ on any remain chaos terminator. In the end the game went onto turn 6 & ended in a draw, with the unit of Chaos Marines said above still pinned in the building give off fire support when needed. While that my Object I had ONE Chaos Space Marine holding it with two unit of Battle suit near by who where a mere half a inch out from the object. How unluck for the tau, if it went onto turn 7 I would have loss it. But ended on turn 6 & thanks to the Last Man standing, it ended the game on a Draw. Also after the game Mike give me some tips in the event I face any more Tau later on in the tournament Sorry about the photo here, camera started acting funny http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05875.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05876.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05877.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05878.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05879.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05880.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05881.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05882.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05884.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05885.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05886.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05889.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05890.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05891.jpg Here is the Last Man Standing photo http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05892.jpg So after round 2, it was time to work out the vpts, then get ready for Round 3, the last round for Day one of the UKGT heat 1. Iron-Daemon Forge
So after Round 2, it was time for Round 3, the last game for the first day. Round 3: Back to the Warp Army: Chaos Daemons List: Bloodthirster, Slannesh fast attack unit (can't rememeber) I think?, 2x 5 Bloodcrusher units, 3x 6 Nurgle unit for troops, 3 Daemon Prince with Mot & Bolt of Tzeentch. Name: Sorry I forgotten your name, but it was one of the Spanish team memeber, I think it Jose guessing from the ranks Mission: Kill Points, Dawn of War First of all though my oppent could not speak a word of English, this in no way had any effect on the game & we both enjoy it, had no problem that all. Just I see on battle report people saying they fought a none english speaking oppent & the difficult. I find this a bit unfair. As said though my oppent could not speak a word of English, we use our hand/finger so for exsample a Chaos Space Marine is charging into combat you'd hold up three finger shown the one normal, one for charging & one for having bolt pistol & ccw, you would also point these out. Like wise because I do not know Spanish, my oppent would do the same. We never once check up the rule book, maybe had a look that the codex just so we knew what what. But it was a great game & really enjoy it. As to the game. This was the first time I have ever fought Daemons in a tournament, but third overall in my gaming life. The twice I fought them was by my local GW manger & this list I fought remind me of his but you would drop his three Soul Grinder for the three Daemon Prince above. Like wise I have a Daemon army of my own with a Thirster, Horrors, Crusher, Letter & soul grinder, so know full well what I could exspect. Also having had the little experince, I knew from the start it would be bad for my Iron Warriors being Kill point, object I could have possible been luck. But Kill point, it very tough. So know this my aim was of course to take out as many as I could. Mainly aim that those that came close enough, while any Chaos Marines unit would move into cover since Daemons are not arm with Grenades so making Bloodcrusher for exsample a bit less scary. But overall I could not hold out for long & it was only a matter of time before thing like the Bloodthirster, Bloodcrusher all came storm over my army. Sadily my army was wipe out by turn 5. Though I did cause a lot of wound in units.... it was not enough for Kill Point mission beside a Daemon Prince I took on in close combat. Though I got slaughter. It was a very enjoible game & was happily give the Spanish oppent a re-match. As said though nether of us could speak the other launge, we got through the game that a good speed, we knew what each other where doing in the game & having a laught from the good dice to the bad dice rolls. Sorry there not many photos, camera was really acting up with the effect on the photos. Also I HATE the pam-tree GW have here, could not stop cutting my hand when move unit in or out. Just the wire they use. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05903.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05904.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05905.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05908.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05909.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05910.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05911.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05912.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05913.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/#findComment-2156457 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
Sat night that Bugman bar So after Round 3 there, it was time to get our dinner (souther fried chicken) & a few event happen in Bugman bar, the pub/bar in Warhammer World. As per usely we had the pub quiz which is only for a laught & to see who get the most laught. I belive me & my friend team name got the most laught when the bugman staff read it out, sadly can not say due to it being a family fourm, but the stuff people come up with when drink heavy (I don't drink myself). I can't rememeber much, but it was a laught & also catch up with friends I made from past GT & discuess the event, games, new release, current armies, etc... Once we where all kick out for the night, it was time to get some sleep & be ready for the second day. By this stage I was on a win, loss & a draw. If I wanted to make it through to the finials, I would need another two wins & a draw to make it through.... no bother.... that least that what I though. Round 4: And now, as then, a beast approaches; patient and confident, savoring the meal to come. Army: Tau List: Battle suit HQ with bodyguards, Battle suit, one Hammer head, two unit of Battle suits with twin Rail guns, 6 Fire Warriors, 8 Fire Warriors. I think that it, along with some drone in the battle suit units. Before I forget Stelth suits Oppent: Again sorry I forgot to write down your name. Mission: Kill Point, table quater set up. So after checking out from the Hotel, it was time to head back to Warhammer World to take part in the second day of the UKGT heat 1. When I went to find out what table I'll be that, I seen I'd be up against Tau once more ^_^ :D My oppent had arrive from London to take part in the event. As for the game, I had chose to let the Tau to set up & go first. For my set up I try to take as much advantage of the terrain as possible. Also thanks to Mike game in round 2 & his tip I had a better idea but still not as good, to deal with the Tau. I chose to deep strike my unit of two Obliterators & one single Obliterator, while my last single Obliterator set up in a build "just in case". While the Terminators would also deep strike as per normal. So over all the game saw shots going back & forward between the Tau new techknolwege (sp) & the good old classic Chaos weapon of the per-heresy. I was luck with my Deep Striken with the Obliterators & Terminators, they would ether be spot on or be close to the Tau unit....but not close enough for a mis-deep strike roll. All these Deep Strike allow me to leave most of the Tau on my oppent right flank with a nice building block line of sight in the middle. While my Daemon Prince was rip apart a unit of Fire Warrior & trying to hunt down the Hammer head. In the ended with the game draw to a close. I took a quick count on what was what with out armies. We where roughly even by turn 5 & so I op to hide what I had behind the building that block line of sight just incase the game went on to a few more turn, did not want to risk it as it was a important game. In the end me & my oppent Draw & a well done draw that at. We had four kill point each being Me: Two Rhinos, Daemon Prince, Obliterator Tau: Battle suit & commander, Stealth suits & a unit of Fire Warriors. On top of that we also where 23pts diffrent from each other in term of unit we killed to get Vpts, could not ask for a closer game than that. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05916.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05917.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05919.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05922.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05923.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05928.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC05929.jpg Sorry for lack of photos, the other once I have of this game where to blurry. My camera has current been suffering a little bit & going a bit funny. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/#findComment-2156459 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
So after round four, it was time for Launch for the Sun. Which saw me by mistake put gravy on top of apple crumble desert.... it was not for me, but a friend who wanted my desert. They are never going to let that go ^_^ just I had one hour worth of sleep from the Sat night & also where the Gravy was place, they had Choclatre suace (sp?) the night before for the desert then. Ironicly my friends found it teasted alright. But the amount of mocking I got for that, just brain was on auto-poilt. So after launch & vote for best army. It was time to get ready for Round 5 Round 5: Give them nothing! But take from them everything! Army: Marines List - Chaplain Cassius, 9 Grey Knights, 2x 10 Space Marines with Rhinos, Land Raider Redeemer, 2 Land Speeder with Melta & Flamer (in a squad), 2 Vindcators. Oppent - again forgotten name Mission - Home & away object, pitch battle. Well if there was a most important game it was this. By this stage I was on two draws, a loss & a win, I needed to win this game & round 6 in order to make it through to the finials. This game I would say was very blood & tense. From the start bullet where flying with me going first. As per usely my wall o'Rhinos went right ahead as I was focuse on a all out assault to get the Marine object. I did keep one unit behind just in case of anything, Through out the game, unit where going down from Land Speeder, to destroy Vindcators with combi plasma or a Obliterator lascannon. Or the bitter close combat between the Grey Knights & my Daemon Prince. To the might Chaplain Cassius with his T6 going through units. In the end we where commiting everthing to try get this win & each unit took a good beating up. In the end the game last for seven round, my Rhino contesting his Object where the remain of Grey Knight where, while Chaplain Cassius contest my own object where I had a unit of Chaos Marines held, just could not lay a wound on Chaplain Cassius. So with the game being a draw, it ment that my shot of the GT finial was gone, but end of the day as said the main thing was having a good laught that the tournament, battle armies I not seen in agies & battle new people. That has alway been my No1 goal & to have a laught & learn & see cool new armies. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06008.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06009.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06010.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06011.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06012.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06013.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06014.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06015.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06016.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06017.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06018.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06019.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06020.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06021.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06022.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06023.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06024.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06025.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/#findComment-2156461 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
So with the finial out of reach for me, I chose for my last round I would swtich of my brain, not care about a win or loss next round & just wanting my chaos marine basicly go in & beat stuff up in close combat, going all or nothing. Also the one hour of sleep was kicking in. Round 6: Taught never to retreat, never to surrender. Taught that death on the battlefield in service to Space Wolf was the greatest glory he could achieve in his life Army: Space Wolves Army list: Ragnar, two unit of Grey Hunter with Rhinos, Blood Claw, Land Raider, normal Dreadnought, Venrable Dreadnought Oppent: James, or know as spikyjames on these fourm Mission d3+2, dawn of war. I felt really honour to battle James & his Space Wolves, mainly on a snow table, fitted really well. The reason for this, not only is James a good person but his army is really cool to look that. His Space Wolves where in the top 10 for the armies up for the best army away for the painting & conversion. He has painted the White Scars that you can find in your codex Space Marines, the Ultramarine in last month White Dwarf, Mentor Legion that are in codex Apoclypse. You can find his Wolves here along with other great project http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155922 So when find out I would battle James. I did say in advance I was not going to play the way I usely do with my IW. I was basicly going to go in & kick the warp out of those nice Space Wolves in close combat, not care about the object or what rank I came. It truly went as such, with a big close combat happen in the middle, while on the side saw my Warsmith take on James mighty Venrable Dreadnought in combat. Ragnar counter attacking (as in assault a unit already in combat, not as in there rules) with his Blood Claws. While the Land Raider was levaling my Obliterators who in turn where making Inv save like there was no tomorrow ^_^ however I wish the same could be said about there shooting. In the end James won, but like I said, I just wanted to go all out with combat since there was nothing to loss or gain as such. Also I just wanted to relax & just switch my brain off, but still have what I hope was a good game. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06028.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06030.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06031.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06032.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06033.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06034.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06036.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06037.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06038.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06039.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/GT%2009/Games/DSC06041.jpg Review So with the tournament over, I was on one win, two loss & three draw. Overall I really enjoy the event. I made many new friends & meet many old friends & it alway good catch up. Stand out army... was none as such. Lot more Guards than normal with 40+ Valkyrie models (vendetta, etc...). But there was a good mix of armies. I like how my Iron Warriors done, some up & down, but games where good fun & a great laught. I already look forward to next year GT, might possible have the new Space Wolves but will see near the time how I feel. I hope all my oppent had a good game & a good time. That me. Next tournament for my Iron Warriors will be in two weeks time being my Wargaming club in Stirling, Rapid Fire. Then I have ELG which will ether be IW or the Wolves. IP Edit: Photos of the armies can be seen by here, just right with "armies" & "games" http://s626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/I...hopath/GT%2009/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/#findComment-2156463 Share on other sites
Darkangeldentist
Nice reports and lots of good photos. Seems like they have more line of sight blocking scenery this time round. A good thing really. Glad to hear you enjoyed all your games and the last game sounds like it was an absolute blast. New puppies are a lot scarier to look at than the old one. (Need to find some to play before I can see how much of an actual difference there is.) Anything you feel needs changing with the list? The army is nicely well rounded but with 3 draws and only 1 win it appears to need a little something more somewhere. Prot
Nice Report IP. Lots of great photos... if only your camera wasn't acting up. Mine starts to take pics like that as soon as the batteries start to run dry. Up until your last couple of games I was starting to think this was the tournament theme was IP versus 'Green' armies. :tu: One thing I would ask though is given your experience at this GT, what (if anything) would you change in your list? I know I've been working hard on Red Corsairs, and I'm mightily tempted by those Space Wolves! James' look good, and I know you've got your own baking up right now. Thanks again for the report. A fun read. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182269-ip-ukgt-throne-of-skulls-heat-1-battle-report/#findComment-2159451 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
Thanks Prot List, as said in other report no changies to the list (apart for Autocannon this year to deal with the Valkyrie threat!!!). It play well (4th Rapid Fire, 5th 40k radio Scotland, 2nd Conplsuin, 4th ELG Counter attack) & I enjoy it ether unluck or out played, but no weakness as such. That & I do NOT wish to make any replacment until Codex Legion has been release. With GW old Ink no longer around & me having a limited supply, also the chaos codex though alright it not like say Orks, Wolfs or Guards with unit chose. I want to stick with IW theme so no Raptor, Cult units (take normal unit because those Autocannon did help a lot through out along with rhinos). Possessed, chosen, fast attack in general are not the greatess in my view, I find Lash over rated & to commen & as said we are IW, we do not worship the chaos gods like other legions!!!!. All I ever want is Obliterators, Rhino units, Terminators & Daemon Prince when I have the current codex chaos. Just sort of why IW are my only current chaos force being my favrout force. So until codex Legion come out, no changies. I have said to all the Games Dev through out the Games days & GT if codex legion is like Wolves, Orks, Guards, etc.... I will be buying each legion with chaos being my main army. So once our day of codex legion come out, exspect project logs in the painting area like you never seen project logs before!!!!! There many twisted idea for other chaos armies on the model front!!! tournament theme was IP versus 'Green' armies. :P Ironicly I got draw against all three of them :P :D Though the only army I did not battle that the GT was Eldar ;) I know you've got your own baking up right now. Yes I'm going to make my new Space Wolves army another tournament force. Just models & painting wise mainly as you've seen from James army from above.
